Legendary rapper Guru, best known as a member of the rap duo Gangstarr, reportedly suffered a heart attack over the weekend and is currently in critical condition. Our prayers are with Guru today.According to HipHopWired.com, the 43-year-old rapper (real name: Keith Elam) went into cardiac arrest sometime this weekend, and has since slipped into a coma.
Guru's former partner, DJ Premier, was set to call into DJ Eclipse's HipHopNation/Sirius show to speak on the rapper's condition. But, several reports indicate that he decided to hold off.
HipHopWired, however, says the call did take place, and Premier revealed that Guru is set to undergo surgery Monday afternoon (March 1). [BallerStatus]

@Anon2:20 - I don't think you can really blame Brooklyn Vegan for how crass, inconsiderate, ignorant and rude some of the users of his blog are. I'm sure you and I agree on the most important thing though...our prayers go out to Guru...one of the most important and legendary figures in hip hop history!

Ain't Gangstarr too young for a heart attack? Is being a celebrity so stressful or were there a previous condition?

Guggenheim billed it as a performance piece and it was just an installation. Resultingly, the crowd simply waited for the "show" to start, limiting anyone's ability to freely explore the space (the ground floor was packed with indian-style seaters, and the balconies were lined with people holding onto their spots like grim death.

I was suprised when he had the heart attack. Never found out what they said was actual cause and why he passed away. Hope people will learn that you never know how long you will be around and do not do things that could harm themself.
