All these SXSW posts are making me realize that what Austin gets for 1 week out of the year New York gets for 51 weeks out of the year...and yet in NY it's not OMFG such a big deal, everyone stop what they're doing and talk about it nonstop for a month afterwards.

I'm with Anonymous, let's not talk about bands any more. Especially if some yank snob has already seen them.

"Austin gets for 1 week out of the year New York gets for 51 weeks out of the year."

wrong. NY doesn't get 100 competing shows many with lineups that are packed in with 10 headliners in a single shows and during every hour of the day for 24 hours a day in 100 different venues with thousands of music fans running around like maniacs and interacting and 2000 bands all within a few square miles of each other from so many different countries and states....

Yes it does. Try leaving the midwest every now and again. It's a big world out there, full of surprises.

Why don't you losers start your own band! There's an idea.
