Here We Go Magic @ South Street Seaport - Summer 2009 (more by Chris La Putt)
Here We Go Magic

Here We Go Magic, a band who have already headlined the 600+ capacity Music Hall of Williamsburg, are playing a show at the much tinier Zebulon this Friday, March 5th. The gig is free (they usually pass the hat for the bands) and also on the bill are Caveman and Glass Ghost. Brooklyn's Glass Ghost are a keys and drums duo whose play synth-based, rhythmic pop that doesn't fall into standard electro cliches (in particular see "The Same," above). Their debut, Idol Omen, came out on Western Vinyl last September. Their video for "Like a Diamond" is posted below.

Here We Go Magic's upcoming North American tour includes SXSW, where one their shows in the official Brooklyn Vegan showcase at Club DeVille on March 17th with Califone, Dawes, Bowerbirds, The Middle East and Serena-Maneesh. They also play Pitchork's official showcase three nights later. They'll be back in the NYC area for an April 30th show at Maxwell's. Tickets are on sale.

They're also touring North America with White Rabbits and Europe with The New Pornographers. All dates are below...

For my friends are not as funny as I find them and their events.
Music is at least good.

I hope to get to see a concert like this one next year as well. In May I'll travel to USA again and by the start of 2011 I am going to search good live music.
Hope for a good one.

Like, like, like them a lot. A bit strange for others but for me - great sounds. Love to go and see them live every chance I get.

any news about them in 2011? concerts?

Guggenheim billed it as a performance piece and it was just an installation. Resultingly, the crowd simply waited for the "show" to start, limiting anyone's ability to freely explore the space (the ground floor was packed with indian-style seaters, and the balconies were lined with people holding onto their spots like grim death.

it makes no sense for them to deconstruct the entire TD North venue to play a show the next night ~50 miles south at an amphitheater (which probably would require a different stage setup anyway). They'd play Providence or Mohegan Sun before that (and I think those are both highly unlikely).

Wonderful post and the location is beautiful and elegant in design and information and everything>>> to Favorites
Amazing is an enormous understatement. One of the best electronic shows I've ever been to and I've seen well over a thousand concerts. I had no idea Vladislav Delay was as good a drummer & percussionist as he is- fabulous and he kept everything swinging with a very unique style of playing. If you missed this you missed out big time...

bonnaroo would never do something like put arcade fire up against soundgarden. or strokes vs gaga. thats why these festivals with curfews are not worth going to. you have to miss tons of bands you'd want to see.
