Metric

One of the more mainstream "big" bills at SXSW was Muse with Metric at Stubb's on Friday night (3/19). It was Emily Haines' 2nd night in a row in the venue because she also performed with Broken Social Scene there. Our Friday day party at Club DeVille was right down the street. After cleaning up we left to find the line to Muse was blocks long (luckily we had no plans to go in). Tim was also at our Friday day party but had taken off earlier than us to make sure he got in in time to get the pictures that continue below...

Some nice performance photos in there. Many to similarly good ones to choose from for your lead pic.

Great Shots. Muse is one of the best live rock bands I have ever seen, and I don't care how popular they are, they are awesome.

Metric is pretty great live too. I saw them open for South at Bowery Ballroom, and they completely upstaged South. Emily Haines is underrated as a rock front woman IMHO.

Doesn't look that crowded anyone know how many people attended?

that's because most of muse's fans have to be in bed by 9.

emily's my girl, saw her at union pool in '08. she was great... when she wasn't making out with some random dude in the back...

the problem with Muse isn't that theyre popular, it's that their last album is completely terrible. it's a massive, bloated attempt at Queen-style arena rock. and then there's an R&B song. its a joke & i won't be sitting through any of their shows in the near future listening to that crap to hopefully get 5 or 6 songs of their good material.

even though muses new album sucks, the songs sound way better live and are few in between their better material
