WOXY Listeners, Fans and Friends...Due to current economic realities and the lack of ongoing funding for WOXY's operations, we've been forced to suspend our live broadcasts as of March 23rd. We're continuing to explore options to keep The Future of Rock and Roll alive. For business inquiries, please contact Bryan Jay (bryan@woxy.com) or John at Future Sounds (john@futuresounds.com).
Thanks for your years of dedicated support.

I imagine, given the degree to which BV commenters hate music, that this is good news?

This was the only way I could get through my work day...

Looks like I'll go back to streaming www.CD101.com

i remember having to deal with this back on 2004. at least back then they knew in advance that they were closing up and had time to reflect on air. this was so sudden, and right after all their sxsw coverage. very sad, but something tells me they'll be back.

this really, really sucks. by far the best streaming radio station out there.

i just bought an iphone for the woxy app to listen at work after my company blocked it last week ... this is so sad, it was the first radio station i listened to where i discovered new bands every day ... hopefully this isn't the end of woxy, they made my world better

is there anything listeners can do to help bring it back?? if only we'd known this was at risk of happening, we could've pitched in more. seriously sucks.

The end of how many eras now?
It should be salvaged somewhere as a brand within public radio - like XPN did with Y-Rock in Philadelphia.

this is such a disappointment.

I've listened to this station everyday the last 5 years at work. I've never found another station that promotes new bands and plays genuinely good music like they do. If Austin has such an awesome scene, then why can't they invest in the station?

The worst part is the newly unemployed is there are probably no music-related jobs in Austin.
