Cake

Cake will be playing at Central Park's Rumsey Playfield on Thursday, September 16th. Tickets are on presale now for a charitable donation (only a dollar more than the regular ticket) (there's an "artist" presale too). AmEx presale starts Wednesday at 11am. General sale starts Friday at noon.

The show is part of a September tour that includes a show in Clifton Park, NY (near Albany) on September 13th. Tickets to that go on sale Friday at 10am.

The band, who maintain a pretty good environmental blog on the news section of their site, have shows in June and July too. All tour dates are below...

Anyone remember the Cake/Flaming Lips/Modest Mouse show in Prospect Park? Good times.

I went to both shows, and even with shit coming out of overflowing sewers, it was still a really fun show.

Cake are fucking assholes as people, seriously some of the worst human beings alive in music aside from Kings of Leon

i will have my cake and eat it too...bitches...cake rocks...and has fun doing so...why would anyone feel the need just to talk shit about a successful band..i mean c'mon...dont you realize that its all objective...enough whining, channel that into something creative and make "better" music. ok AZ love in the house for BV and all ya'll snobs.

Actually Cake cares about their fans more than most bands. They once refused to let the venue in KC sell vip tickets. They are my heroes. I only wish they would tour to Denver now that I have moved.

Soul Coughing was a great band, but not as good as Cake. And there's a reason one is still around and the other isn't. Maybe it's talent, maybe it's egos, but either way, that makes you haters wrong.

What a great show at the park last night - don't really get all the hate at all. Does anyone have the setlist from the Central Park show?
