Evelyn Evelyn

Evelyn Evelyn, Amanda Palmer's new project with Seattle musician/busker Jason Webley, NYC composer Sxip Shirey and other artists know for their vaudevillian and just general wacky ways. They'll be hitting the road this April, May and June. The show travels Europe and North America, and includes a six-night run at NYC's Lucille Lortel Theatre from June 8-13. Ticket info coming soon.

The album is co-produced by Amanda Palmer and Jason Webley, and is out now in a bunch of different packages (including an 11 million dollar offer to travel the world from Himalayas and Antarctica to Western Massachusetts). The concept behind the project is that the two Evelyns are a ("fictional"?) pair of conjoined twins.

EVELYN and EVELYN NEVILLE are a songwriting duo performing original compositions on piano, ukulele, guitar and accordion. The sisters are parapagus tripus dibrachius twins, sharing three legs, two arms, three lungs, two hearts and a single liver.

Born September 11, 1985 on a small farm on the Kansas-Colorado border, the Evelyns have traveled the greater part of North America performing with "Dillard & Fullerton's Illusive Traveling Show". Their unique musical style is inspired by their many eclectic influences - from 80's music to showtunes, Joy Division to the Andrews Sisters.

The sisters currently reside in Walla Walla, Washington. They are fluent in chicken and their favorite colors are purple and yellow.

Songs are streaming on the project's Myspace.

The record's extensive list of guests and all tour dates (with details on how to hook the touring band of 5 people up with lodging and food) are below...

tour lodging and food

one last thing with this whole tour, and this one involves YOU (well, maybe)...help me and the evelyn evelyn crew with food and/or lodging when the show hits your town! it worked during my tours with the danger ensemble and nervous cabaret, and it shall work again!!

me and our wee crew (5 people in total) are looking for a place to crash throughout europe and north america after our shows. we hate staying in soulless hotels - so if you've got space to house us - comfy couches, beds, spare loft apartments, your family's vineyard villa - let us know, we'd love to kick it with real people. ideally you'll have wifi, beds for everyone, and a good kettle for tea/coffee. we can hook you up with tickets, merchandise with which to decorate your life, and we will kiss you all over (as long as you're of legal age).

if you think you can help, please send a message to lodging@amandapalmer.net, formatting your subject line like this: LODGING: PARIS - then tell us a little bit about you and your place. please let us know how far you're located from the venue and if you can accommodate comfortable sleeping spaces for all 5 people. (PLEASE only e-mail in if you can help in the cities for this tour. we get a lot of emails and we'll try to get back to everyone, but if you don't hear from us, assume we're set.)

the way it works is thus: you bring food for us, we'll keep it backstage, we'll all perform, then we'll eat (with you, of course) after the show. obviously we'll hook you up with tickets and merch if you do this. and cover you with love, and probably give you some beer or wine (as long as you're of legal age).

we'll need food for about 5 people in total, mostly vegetarian dishes. if you can prepare a meal for any of the dates on the tour, please send an e-mail to food@amandapalmer.net and format your subject line like this FOOD: PARIS - then tell us about the kind of food you'd like to prepare. note that the dishes should be made before arriving to the venue and should be prepared to be served cold or at room temperature. (same deal with lodging, please only e-mail in if you can help with the cities on the tour. we get lots of e-mails, so if you don't hear from anyone, assume that we're all set.)

Yay! More teenage fake goth bullshit! The only thing worse than Palmer is her dumbass husband. They should all go slink out of sight with Tim Burton so we can be free of adolescent goth angst once and for all.

LOL. Yeah, it's not because of the thousands of dollars in food and lodging it would cost for the tour, it's because they want to "kick it with real people."

Yeah, so, uh, we need a place to crash and stuff, but, you know, we need beds for 5 people, i mean everyone has 5 extra beds, right?, i mean the photo spread on my husbands house showed that his library full of shit fantasy books is like huge, i mean everyone has a house like that, right?, oh and wifi, and, umm, yeah, we need you to make us a meal too cause it isn't like every venue in europe makes dinner for you anyways, or we're big enough to have a rider or anything, and yeah, sorry, it does have to be vegetarian. sorry that beyond asking you to make us dinner we have restrictions on the free food we want to eat. umm, ok, thanks.

You keep it real bro with that high tip lingo.
Its not like brooklyn vegan has many real non pretentious intellectuals.

Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to the Dark Side.

This is going to be awesome. & I love that they're still doing the sofa-tour thing. I hate that "we shall sneak out to our hotel so that we don't have to see the fans" bullshit you get from so many other groups. It's like a wonderful art circus. Breath of air in a tired world. Go EE!

Oh my, Amanda palmer is "forcing" her fans to giveher food and lodging? Since when has it been anything other than voluntary giving and taking when it comes to her? sh givesmusic, sheshares herself and her life, and if you like, you can give something back. If you do not like, you can go to the gig and enjoy.

I think it's fancy she's giving us the options, and sorry I cannot be there giving her some foods because it'd've been vegun.

And ignorance leads to listening to and following Palmer and this Evelyn thing that doesnt deserve too much when their so full of themselves.

Posted by Anonymous | April 6, 2010 8:04 PM

The pretense of the haters is astounding, yes, yes, you're so superior to these musicians and all their fans.

Why are you even commenting on an article that doesn't relate to you?

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2010 12:21 AM

1) I love that people are getting fed up with vegans...While browsing a website called brooklynVEGAN.com.

2) Just don't read the article.

3) I hope the tours go well. Good luck to them all.

Clearly this story was posted on some lame Amanda Palmer blog because the only people who still give a shit days later are her defenders.

Go away, nobody cares.

Sounds a bit different from the Dresden Dolls stuff, but I think it's awesome. Delightfully gimmicky and high in entertainment value. Worth a listen on the band's myspace page at least.

Why does anyone believe anything this dumb bitch says? Gaiman and Palmer are cheap because all their money goes to the cult of Scientology! Gaiman paid the cult $35,000.00 last November 2009, so please pick up the dumb bitches tab!

Palmer is a perfect candidate for Scientology, ambitious, narcissistic and willing to ruthlessly claw her way up. But even Palmer's raw ambition can't overcome the fact she lacks any talent at music or lyric writing. Gaiman and Palmer are working as a team, with the Scientology seal of approval. They got paired up to make money, that's why their relationship was "launched" with pictures, a soundtrack, a self published vanity book.

Unfortunately for Scientology's coffers, Gaiman's career is on the downslide after writing so many bad scripts. None of his movies made money. Palmer is just crap. She was dumped by her record label because she can't write a song to save her life, let alone sing and looks like a transvestite.

Scientologists manage the comments on any thread discussing Gaiman and Palmer so you'll see vehement defense of these idiots coupled with slathering, phony adulation.

Palmer blows!

Neil Gaiman just fed another $500,000.00 into the cult of Scientology through his business partner Mary Gaiman. Amanda Palmer is a cheap ass Scientologist.

Shut up Palmer, don't you ever get sick of trolling the web and fighting for the scraps? You're pathetic. You and Gaiman deserve each other... what a pair of attention whores.
