Faith No More @ the Warfield (Dina Marie)
Faith No More

"Faith No More really kicked ass tonite at their first hometown show in many years....Neil Hamburger killed as MC and the ladies (and gents!) of Trannyshack put on a bloody good show too!" [Dina Marie]
Faith No More played their first U.S. reunion show last night (4/12). The show was also their first of three nights in a row at the Warfield Theatre in their hometown of San Francisco. A video, the poster and the setlist is below.

Mike Patton & band (that doesn't include Jim Martin) also revealed more shows, in part via a t-shirt at the show (pictured below). In addition to the previously announced (sold out) July 5th show at Williamsburg Waterfront in Brooklyn, the band will play a show at the same venue three days earlier (Friday, July 2nd), and a show at The Mann Center in Philadelphia one day after that. Tickets for the new Brooklyn show go on sale Friday (4/16) at noon.

All together that makes seven upcoming U.S. dates - the three in SF, two in NYC, one in Philly and this weekend at Coachella. The t-shirt seems to imply there won't be any other dates in 2010. Maybe they'll do a bigger tour later in the year or in 2011? The "Second Coming" dates and other stuff below...

Why is Faith No More only doing the coasts?

Damn!

I was super excited that they add a second show since the first one was on a holiday weekend. MY hope was for a show on July 6th, but the 2nd? Also during the holiday weekend. Argh.

Perhaps I'll go to Philly for the holiday and catch that show. How is the Mann Center?

The Mann is pretty excellent. It's an amphitheater overlooking the Philly skyline. Great acoustics. I'm seeing Pavement there this Sept!

ah, the Mann Center... saw Metallica, Danzig, and Suicidal Tencencies there in '94. Great place. The kids tore down the fences and railings during Danzig's Mother...

Pretty incredible that $50 is pretty much the defacto going rate for a "big" show these days.

I sure hope they come to the PacNW.

"Why is Faith No More only doing the coasts?"

billy replied to a fan's email saying that surprisingly there hasnt been very much interest from promoters in the US, this probably all the can manage right now

I'm a new yorker who flew to san fran for fnm. Last night was fucking AMAZING! First time ever seeing them. Blew my mind. Seeing tonight/tomorrow/coachella & brooklyn.

Met Patton & Gould pre-show. Billy is just the nicest. The band was sick, played a perfect show. Patton threw himself off the stage and road the crowd & didn't MISS A NOTE! Show went above & beyond my sky high expectations!

If you're excited to see them, you will not regret spending the $$ :) and US promoters get WITH it! The shows are selling out in minutes!!!!

Can't wait!! 2nd show (NY) added I missed out on the 1st and really didn't wanna pay $200 for a ticket. People that brought them on ebay must be kicking themselves in the ass. Maybe i'll try to hit Philly too?

Where did you get the poster picture?
Awesome show. I went last nite the 13th. Does anyone have the setlist for the 13th?

The reason they don't tour the whole US is because here in the US, we have horrible untalented pop music being promoted all over the place. Why do you think in Chile and Brazil and anywhere else overseas FNM is a much bigger band? I bet you know. We don't give good bands the respect they deserve. Faith No More should be 1000X bigger than they are. Angel Dust spawned a few hits, but radio didn't like the direction they went. King For A day Fool For A lifetime is probably the band's most underrated album ever. Why? because it had no commercial sound at all even though Angel Dust remains their best. Here in the US, those entertainment people care about money and what's popular. So unless more people here get into good music, then maybe our favorite bands would be much bigger. FNM is a big band I'm mean shows are selling out quick and everything but we can do better. I was in the show last night and it was just amazing. I didn't even bother to get in the pit cause I couldn't take my eyes of the great Mike Patton. I wish Mike would have stage dive thoguh. I would spend as much money as I can to see them again it's worth it. Hope everything goes alright for them and hopefully they'll soon come back to their hometown.
