Green Day

After appearing at their Broadway musical on Thursday, the members of Green Day played a pair of NYC shows as Foxboro Hot Tubs, their garage rock side-project, at Don Hills (April 23rd) and Bowery Electric (last night, April 25th).

At Don Hills, the band played a set of their Foxboro Hot Tubs songs, including a new one called "It's Fuck Time." They also did Green Day songs "Blood, Sex and Booze" and "St. Jimmy," and covers that included "I Fought the Law" and "A Quick One While He's Away."

Bowery Electric hosts a "secret" show with Devotchka on Tuesday.

Videos from the shows and a set list are below...

Green Day is a small-club band. Last year I saw them at Webster Hall, was blown away at all levels. Then I saw them at the Wachovia Spectrum in Philly and was bored to tears.

I wish they did shows like this more often.

They played fuck time 8 times scattered through the night. Im not a huge Green Day Fan but have listened to them and seen them for the past 15 years or so and the show at don hills was one hell of a time. No security, great sound just a party. Gotta go ..its fuck time

they didn't play the song 8 times in a row. just 8 times throughout the night. at one point they were taking requests, but requests were usually just met with a response of "alright, It's Fuck Time, let's do it"

i read on punknews that the don hills show was already another show and that they kicked the bands off the night before and took the show. that's really messed up. instead of playing the same songs 8 times in a row they should have let the other bands play. still i wish i was there.

Posted by Anonymous | April 26, 2010 6:01 PM
