Killing Joke @ Irving Plaza in '08 (more by Tim Griffin)

Though tickets for some dates are still on sale, reunited UK post-punk band Killing Joke have pushed back their upcoming album and tour dates, both of which were due this spring, to the fall and beyond because of "unforeseen circumstances." They were scheduled to play a May 21st show at Irving Plaza. Instead they'll play the venue on December 3rd. Tickets are on sale for that new date, and old ones will be honored too.
Except for a couple of UK shows in October, most of the rescheduled dates are still TBA. . Their new album has been moved to September. More info, the confirmed dates and a note from the band about the cancellations, below...

Now, 30 years since first bonding in blood, the original line-up of Jaz Coleman (vocals), Geordie (guitar), Youth (bass) and Paul Ferguson (drums) are about to complete work on their 13th studio album, the first fruits of a new worldwide deal with the Spinefarm Records label, and word from inside the camp is that 'XIII: Feast Of Fools' is shaping up to be something very special indeed.......
"We have survived equipment being hi-jacked, tapes being withheld, nervous breakdowns, family bereavements, blood lettings, and a host of other challenges of Biblical proportions," comments Youth. "But we are now at the final ascent, and I have to say it's one of the greatest albums I have ever had the privilege to be involved with... EVER! I have been living and breathing it for over four months now, and I'm still jaw-droppingly amazed at its power & beauty. ....

Covered by Metallica, Foo Fighters and more, Killing Joke's apocalyptic vision continues to draw praise from such high-profile supporters as Jimmy Page and Billy Corgan, and the band's considerable musical legacy can be heard in the works of Nirvana, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails and the like - artists whose rise to fame never saw them cutting ties with the underground/alternative scene.....
Once described by Paul Ferguson as 'the sound of the earth vomiting', Killing Joke are now poised to take their music of resistance to a whole new level, both in the studio and on the road.....
As ever, the journey won't be easily forgotten... whether those involved wish to do so or not!....

If you don't know who Killing Joke is, then your musical knowledge is worth a penny in excrement.

@steveAych12:33 - I hate to join in on the bashing party as my fellow posters have pretty much covered it but steve...you are either 8 years old...or you know nothing about (post)punk music. Killing Joke have influenced everything from loud drone, experimental metal to Goth. Hell...Dave Grohl is such a fan, he even drummed on one of their records. Please do some research before commenting.
