Los Campesinos! won't make Culture Shock this weekend

Though they’re not playing Coachella this year (meaning they don’t have to cancel the high profile fest like the Cribs just did), Los Campesinos! have announced that they won’t get to the States in time to play SUNY Purchase’s Culture Shock, also happening this weekend…
We are very sad to announce we will be unable to appear at Culture Shock Festival, Purchase NY, tomorrow. No flights out the UK. Really, really disappointed and I hope we can make it up to the promoters and attendees sometime, but this is totally out of our hands 🙁
USA Today reports that, “The volcano is erupting small, jagged pieces of rocks, minerals and volcanic glass the size of sand and silt into the atmosphere, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.” and that the “volcano eruption could last months”.
Los Campesinos! are scheduled to kick off a tour with Cymbals Eat Guitars at Maxwell’s on April 17th… hopefully.
Other bands scheduled to play SUNY’s Culture Shock include Surfer Blood, Jay Electronica, and The Books, and Das Racist. LC were considered one of the headliners.
