a Muse & Metric show @ SXSW (more by Tim Griffin)
Muse Metric

Muse have their North American tour for this fall already plotted out. The first half will be opened by Passion Pit, and the second will be opened by Metric. For the NY-area shows in October, it'll be Metric. Those will happen October 23rd at Nassau Coliseum and October 24th at NJ's Prudential Center. Tickets go on WRXP presale Wednesday at 10am, and Fanclub presale starts at the same time. General sale starts Friday at 10am.

There are plenty of chances to see Passion Pit before then. And Metric will be in NYC too. They play a May 16th show at Terminal 5 with Bear in Heaven. Tickets are still on sale.

Metric's other upcoming shows include Europe in May and select dates of Lilith Fair. They recently shared a bill with Muse at SXSW. All Muse and Passion Pit tour dates are below...

3 bands that suck touring together

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2010 11:41 PM

all these bands suck because they don't play cool venues anymore. how dare bands become famous and successful

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2010 12:47 AM

Two of these bands are playing the best outdoor venue in New York City this summer.

^^ Metric were NEVER "cool" Just a lame marketing tactic that labels them "indie" when truth is, they have been sucking at the tit of the Canadian music industry for over 11 years.

Total shit songs, and phony-ness

I don't know what's more repulsive-- "Metric" or "Stars"

Total 40-something dinner party music for "cool" people

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2010 1:14 AM

More repulsive is constantly putting "words" in "quotes" for no good "reason."

T5 yikes! glad I got prospect park tix for passion pit and w/ a real opener: tokyo police club.

Just got back from the Gogol Bordello show at Brooklyn Bowl. Show was energetic and pretty much amazing, until the moment I was brutally removed from the premise by the over-zealous security. Seriously got the shit slapped out of me, all for trying to pull a stage dive. They literally would not stop slamming me against the wall, despite my exercising NO resistance. I only saw three songs before getting brutally tossed outside without my jacket. Fuck Brooklyn Bowl security and their completely unnecessary force.

metric is playing terminal 5. not passion pit.

That's what you get for being an asshat.

All of these bands are too darn loud.

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2010 10:03 AM

Got two GA's as well...those sold out instantly, I feel quite lucky.

This is indie music for people who live in Murray Hill.

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2010 11:40 AM

if you don't like them don't go, simple as that
let people who like them enjoy their music

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2010 12:06 PM

Muse have been declining in quality and The Resistance is absolute garbage, but their live shows are still damn impressive

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2010 12:20 PM

I saw that, it was pretty hilarious. But you were totally resisting, and with good reason.

Seems hypocritical though because Gogol's little hype man rocked a stage dive and he didn't get bounced.

Posted by and by | April 28, 2010 12:50 PM

all bands suck

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2010 12:53 PM

12:50 (and by)

I may have been resisting on stage in an effort to get out of their hands and back in the crowd, but once they dragged me out, I only tried to peacefully reason with them.

Either way, it was pretty not hilarious. They knocked me out for a good minute, and when I came to, they literally threw me out the back door onto the sidewalk. I'm badly bruised and 25 bucks in the hole. Definitely not hilarious.

Posted by willbah | April 28, 2010 12:58 PM

My apologies.

I only meant that the onstage antics were hilarious. Looked like you were trying to dance with security.

The rest of it is unfortunate. Dealing with overzealous security is pretty rough. There's literally almost nothing you can do during or even after.

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2010 1:24 PM

stage diving is that big a deal? dont gogol bordello label themselves as punks?

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2010 2:39 PM

Brooklyn Bowl security certainly don't label themselves as punks.

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2010 2:43 PM

don't stage dive and you won't get beat up by security. remember what ian + guy from fugazi used to say.

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2010 4:10 PM

really? not one commenter said "MEHtric"?
what's become of this place?

Posted by Anonymous | May 17, 2010 9:19 AM

music snobs should get over themselves.

Posted by Anonymous | August 26, 2010 3:32 PM

You know, I really like both of these bands, that's why I read this article. However, I'm a little confused. If those of you who are trashing them with phrases that aren't even sentences legitimately dislike them, why bother reading this page? Also, why bother leaving a comment. It's the internet, no one is going to pat you on the back and think you're cool for being rude.

haters stop hating. metric and muse are both amazing. if you dont like them, then you missed the point.
