Henry Darger

According to Wikipedia, Henry Darger lived from "April 12(?), 1892-April 13, 1973)". That means he may or may not have a birthday coming up (really though, who doesn't have a birthday coming up?). To celebrate, the American Folk Art Museum (where his work is on display) will have a party for the man who created the vivian girls on...

Concert o Premium Open Bar o Hors d'Oeuvres o Dancing o DJ o Aerial Performance by Cirque-tacular Entertainment

Join us to celebrate Henry Darger's birthday at this extraordinary benefit party. Platinum VIPs will have the opportunity to meet Patti Smith at a private cocktail party. A night you don't want to miss! All proceeds from the evening support the museum.

Tickets will set you back anywhere from $250 to $1000 a piece (which is even more, or less, than it will cost you to see Karen O and Nick Zinner 10 days later at MoMA). Flyer below...

3:16...but everyone who reads this site practices what Darger and Howard Finster and all the other primative, mostly self-taught artists pioneered.

Dumbass.

3:16 is right 3:55. It is well documented that noone on this site has any feelings about Vivian Girls at all. Darger was such an establishment, middle of the road, mainstream artist, after all. Nothing punk rock, rebellious, and just plain weird about his work.
