The Big Sleep

In September 2009 The Big Sleep wrote on their website that they had "been hard at work writing new songs and tightening our harmonies". And if BV posts are to be believed, the last time they played a show, or a NYC show anyway, was June of 2008. I guess you could call that a hiatus. The hiatus ends on May 13th when they play a super late show (11:55pm doors) at Mercury Lounge. It's free.

This is a tremendous band. This band was killing it in a major way before there were such things as music blogs...or at least before they become an influential barometer. Do yourself a favor and go see them. Their music sounds like a great orgasm feels.

Holy shit totally forgot about this band, they were pretty awesome

i hope they actually decide to start singing this time. Instrumental music needs to be interesting enough in itself to carry the lack of focus on lyrics to do without; The Big Sleep never quite got to that point.

no, for the love of god let them not sing, they were always so much better without vocals

yeah, like waaaaay back in 2008. You actually had to OPEN a "laptop" back then before the iPad came out. It's so weird to think people used to do that.
