The Grates @ Mercury Lounge (more by Chris La Putt)
The Grates

Australia's The Grates have been in NYC since last year working on a new album that's set to come out later this year on Dew Process. There's good odds they'll be testing some of that new music at their shows coming up. They have one, as previously mentioned, tonight (4/21) at Knitting Factory with Miniature Tigers and the Stationary Set. They also play Friday, April 23rd at Maxwell's with Vivian Girls and Reading Rainbow (MusicSnobbery's party).

Plus they open three shows on Everybody Was In The French Resistance... Now's upcoming tour in early May, and perform a May 16th NYC show for Kidrockers at the Living Room (Real Estate do a special Kidrockers Bowery Ballroom show on April 25th).

Judging by a note they wrote, the Grates very excited for all of these shows. Check it out, with their full schedule, below...

The Knitting Factory, Not A Place For Nanna

Get ready *BROOKLYN*JERSEY*BOSTON*PHILLY*WASHINGTON DC* MANHATTAN* we have a small run of dates coming up - somebody hide the pancake batter & the beer!

It begins next Wednesday April 21st at The Knitting Factory Brooklyn. All the Nannas will be sent home early so we can rock your midweek blues into midweek brews with Miniature Tigers!

You can also catch us with 'Everybody Was In The French Resistance... Now' in three new cities! If you've got friends and family there, let them know we're coming (especially inform them about hiding the pancake batter & beers etc, that's super important!). You might already know *but* Everybody Was In The French Resistance... Now is a girl/boy team of Art Brut's Eddie Argos and The Blood Arm's Dyan Valdes. They sound like this and can been seen with us...

Wonderful post and the location is beautiful and elegant in design and information and everything>>> to Favorites
Amazing is an enormous understatement. One of the best electronic shows I've ever been to and I've seen well over a thousand concerts. I had no idea Vladislav Delay was as good a drummer & percussionist as he is- fabulous and he kept everything swinging with a very unique style of playing. If you missed this you missed out big time...
