The Hold Steady

The Hold Steady have updated their tour schedule, which already included a NYC show at the Beacon Theatre on October 7th, with two more NYC gigs on Saturday, April 17th. That night they play an early show at Bowery Ballroom with J-Roddy Walston And The Business, and a late show at Music Hall of Williamsburg with The Oranges Band. Two shows. One night.

Early show tickets and late show tix go on "Internet Presale" today (2/12) at 4pm. The presale is for people that bought tickets to Beacon, but it seems reasonable to believe that it might just be a password that anyone can enter. General sale starts Wednesday (4/14) at 10am.

Speaking of the Beacon show, tickets are also still on sale.

The new record, Heaven Is Whenever, comes out May 4th. Tracks from it (including the newly leaked "Barely Breathing") are below...

The Hold Steady - Barely Breathing (newest leak)

The Hold Steady - The Weekenders

The Hold Steady - Rock Problems

The Hold Steady - Hurricane J

The Hold Steady -- The Sweet Part of the City live

anyone know what time the late show is??

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2010 3:40 PM

Website says 10:00 p.m. for the late show. I saw them in New Haven a few weeks ago and they played for about 2 hours, so I'd expect them to take the stage pretty close to 10 and go until midnight.

take it back 3:30

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2010 3:43 PM

ticketmaster says early show is 6:30, late show 10pm. that's for the openers i'm sure.

The ugliest frontman since Adam Duritz of the Counting Crows.

by the time the album comes out, they will have released the whole fucking thing. how many tracks is it total anyway? you know how movies which show the whole premise of the film in the preview generally suck, not too surprised if this one turns out to be a clunker

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2010 5:08 PM

5:08 one would think in this day and age that if the band wasn't proud of the music they wouldn't be leaking so much of it. Music is different than movies and should hopefully warrant many repeat listens.

Two hours later and you can still pull up tickets for both shows. I'm pretty surprised.

doors at 630 for early show, 10 for late. they go on 845 bowery, 12 mhow.

Seriously have you seen J Roddy and the Business? They are a great live band opening up for the Bowery Ballroom show.

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2010 9:34 PM

J Roddy and the Business are atrocious, sorry. (The Business were a pretty great Oi! band 30 years ago and have no responsibility for J Roddy or his Business.)

624, so why doesnt every band release every song off their album then before its out?
who's replacing frenchy franz? roddy bottum?

don't ever disgrace lz by using this shite band's name in the same sentence as them. this band is such a fucking joke.

Posted by Anonymous | April 13, 2010 10:57 PM

10:57, it is unfortunate that you can't appreciate good music.
