"Show was incredible, More like the Moon was the highlight of the acoustic set, and acoustic Passenger Side was also great. The other highlight of the show was definitely Red Eyed and Blue/I Got You, ive been waiting for that one for a while, and it was SOOOO Sweet!Wilco's 3-hour show included a short set change break ("The roadies set up & broke down the acoustic stage while the band kept playing...impressive") before an acoustic set to close the show which ended with a 2-song encore. Wilco return to the Montclair, NJ venue for another show tonight (4/3) (all dates here). More pictures and the full setlist from last night (April 2nd, 2010), and a few videos, below...Jeff seemed to be in a good mood throughout the show. The first free dinner went to a guy who requested impossible germany, and Jeff called him out for "wasting a request" on a song that was already going to be played. The second dinner went to someone who requested a song Tweedy didn't name, but said they weren't gonna play as they "didn't remember it". Would have loved to know what it was.
I grabbed a look at somebody's setlist they got from the soundboard area. Sunken treasure was supposed to be on for the acoustic set (maybe instead of war on war?), and Kingpin was originally pencilled in as the first encore instead of Late Greats. There might have been other changes, but thats all i caught. Overall, INCREDIBLE SHOW!!! 3 hours long, couldn't ask for more." [A Cherry Ghost]

There was no intermission, unless you count the encore break. The roadies set up & broke down the acoustic stage while the band kept playing...impressive. One of the longest one-set shows I've ever seen, and they're doing it every night...

Who doesn't like Wilco?

"intermission"
I actually removed that word like 5 seconds after posting! :-) I'll add your description too. thanks

This was just an incredible, incredible show.

Fantastic show. Jeff also told us that we were the best Jesus Etc. sing-along of the tour. (Though he admitted that he couldn't remember all of the tour.) He said Bethesda MD was the worst of the bunch -- old crowd -- "the kids who see us at the 9:30 club sent their parents."

ugh that setlist is insane. why won't you play nyc, tweedy? wellmont's too much of a hassle to get to.

"boring old men"
Thanks for sharing the dumb opinion. That was another amazing show last night. I really hope they play an NYC show this summer.

That was the first show that I have ever been to where a member of the band had to leave the stage to use the bathroom. Tweedy told jokes while they waited for him to return. That tells you how long the set was. Incredible show. 'Thank You Friends' was excellent.

People are being searched but more for cameras. The place reeked of trees last night so you should be fine. Oh and 3 hours of Tweedy is too much for me
Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2010 5:27 PM
They also did a bit of "Mr. Soul" into that amazing "Broken Arrow". Just a brilliant show, I'm jealous of those going tonight.
The Wellmont really isn't too much of a hassle for NYC folk, though bus info could be better publicized.

it was a relentless night. I commented to my friend that I barely saw any of them even pause for a drink of water between songs. And Tweedy kept that jacket on the WHOLE TIME. Wilco is at the top of their game. this tour, and maybe even this show might be remembered as their peak....my hopes were dashed for dash 7 when tweedy remarked that "we don't play that one"

Is there an opener tonight? What time did Wilco take the stage? Can't wait!
Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2010 6:27 PM
Wilco hit the stage around 8:15pm. Show ended at 11:45
Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2010 7:02 PM
No opener.
Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2010 7:03 PM
show ended at 1118, not 1145.
Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2010 7:14 PM
Show ended at 11:21 PROMPTLY

Adding Nels Cline to make your boring band interesting worked like 2 years ago does not now.
Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2010 9:43 PM
show ended 11:33:42 EXACTLY.

Saw them in July at Keyspan stadium (Brooklyn). Amazing. Couldn't see the Wellmont show cause tickets were sold out Before the sale date.

Looks like a great show! Still happy I made a sick profit on stubhub though!

man of all the amazing, exciting, interesting music out of Chicago, this chickenshit band had to be the one to blow up? ugh.
Posted by amethystdeceiver | April 4, 2010 10:56 AM
nels cline be a boss
Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2010 8:22 PM
i don't think I love any band enough to watch them that long.
Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2010 10:50 PM
Yes, to hummingbird~ Nels is a bit overblown~ playing chaos can get old~ Tweedy is a much more tasteful player than Nels~ I hope I got your Stubhub tix because they were worth every penny! It was one for the ages!
Posted by Norrie | April 4, 2010 10:56 PM
I'm pretty sure they played Big Star's "thirteen".
Posted by Daniel Parker | April 6, 2010 3:00 PM
