Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 4:51 AM

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 7:49 AM

Besides Muse and The Eagles this looks like a pretty fun line up

" billing for eagles and muse. They can out draw phish?"

No, but their fans outsmart them and bathe.

2010 US Best Festival line-up (just my opinion)....

1) Coachella
2) Sasquatch
3) Pitchfork
4) ACL
5) Lollapalooza

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 8:13 AM

^-- agreed, might put lolla in front of acl

Posted by bobby the rookie | May 18, 2010 8:58 AM

Wait! I forgot about Bonnaroo!

1) Coachella
2) Sasquatch
3) Pitchfork
4) ACL
5) Lollapalooza
6) Bonnaroo

Might squeeze ATP NY between Sasquatch and Pitchfork....

Anyone think The Stoogies will play Raw Power in NY after ATP??? I just hope it won't be at T5.....

Verve Pipe! Score!

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 9:26 AM

The Eagles = Watered-down rock for balding white men.

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 9:34 AM

Who do you hate more - Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Meatloaf, or Jimmy Buffett? Discuss

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 9:38 AM

Very fun upper-mid card. But more acts I've never heard at the bottom of the lineup of than any other fest this year. And a really unfortunate top 3.

Might be better than Bonnaroo, but thats about it, imo.

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 9:47 AM

^9:34- unfortunately, you are being too kind. they were already watered down in 1975.

^9:38- Kenny G trumps all of those put together.

Fleetwood Mac is great. Don't even try to argue it.

The Eagles do have a few really excellent songs, but Don Henley is a dick who sold out to wal-Mart, and doesn't give a crap about the small record stores that were around when the Eagles became famous.

Meatloaf is well....just awful (except in Fight Club). The worst pain I have ever endured was seeing two couples at different parts of the night at karaoke doing "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights", badly. C'mon, even if you are a great singer don't do an 8 and a half minute long song. It's disrespectful to other people who want to get up there, and it just gets boring. Expecially the Phil Rizzuto part. You have to be something really special to even attempt to pull that off.

Jimmy Buffet....seems like a cool guy to have a beer with. Has tons of great stories to tell..but damn....Pinacoladaberg...I mean margaritaville has to be one of the most played out songs onthe planet, and I f'ing hate Parrotheads...A bunch of goofy middle aged lame-o's who wear Aloha shirts with no intention of irony, and inflatable sharks on their heads. The same people who hold hands while wearing matching Disney sweatshirts. and they are like a scary cult the way they sing along, and do the fins to the left, fins to the right. Ugh. Kill me now.

I have to give the prize to Meatloaf though because he's fat.

hey fuck you

Posted by marcy playground | May 18, 2010 10:38 AM

Wow. What a horrific festival.

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 10:41 AM

At least BV will mention that Phish is playing, Pitchfork won't even list Phish on their website. Kind of ridiculous to not mention one of the headliners when reporting music news, and I'm not even a Phish fan.

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 10:48 AM

Phish Rips, has so for decades. If you dont like them-fine but you should respect them. I dislike the beatles and bruce but can appreciate what they have done. And if you dont like this lineup you have issues. LCD, Gogol, National, Black keys and Sonic Youth are worth the price of admission alone and there are about 30 other good live bands on the bill.....trolls and n00bs welcome

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 11:09 AM

Save maybe, 4 or 5 bands this is horrible. The Eagles?! REALLY?!? I'd honestly rather see Korn, Disturbed and Slipknot play together then be anywhere The Eagles, Matt and Kim and Vampire Weekend are sharing a stage!

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 11:30 AM

All of you clowns fluff these bands when they play some weak ass Bowery Presents venue, but then bash the festival lineup? Typical pseudo-hipster attitude.

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 11:44 AM

re: 11:44.... Yes, most of these bands can be seen in "better" environments. Thus, the fest is usually judged on the top few acts that we wouldn't normally get to see in a GA venue. Judging a fest on the merits of The Eages/ Muse / and Phish will inevitably lead to hate. And I'd assume that will include other places than BV boards that hate everything.

Friday is the day to go.

Eagles = pure shit

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 12:12 PM

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 12:18 PM

Will it be a dustbowl or will it be 120 degrees

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 12:21 PM

Might I add, that the collective williamsburg waterfront lineup is much better than this.

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 1:21 PM

^^wow.......get out much?

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 2:08 PM

P4k is the best value still, 90 Bucks!
so that defaults to number one
must take into account location and other amenities.

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 2:09 PM

is that bloomberg in the video

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 2:57 PM

Wow great line up.

Posted by nickpharvey | May 18, 2010 4:28 PM

sounds like a bunch of punk ass kids that know nothing of music. where do you think half these bands got there music from? from bands like the eagles. if it bugs you that much than don't go.

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 5:46 PM

I'm not loving this lineup (outside of SY, Black Keys, and a few others). Glad I'm going to Pitchfork this year.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2010 9:30 AM

man, this fest is super lame! I mean I just counted: roughly 30 "indie/scene" bands, 1/2 of which are ultra obvious ones we've seen a million times and play every festival every year. acl boasts "120 bands!" so you get roughly 1/4 of the line up for a full price ticket. why not save the money and go to p-fork, sasquatch, etc...or if you live in austin do fun fun fun or do sxsw? i mean, who wants to see matt and kim while you're standing next to your grandparents anyway?

Posted by Anonymous | May 21, 2010 4:43 AM

The Ettes will be playing at Knitting Factory on the 23rd....worth checking out. for tix!

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 2:38 PM

Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie were really good albums. Got them when they came out, still throw them on at times and think they're great. It saddens me when I hear bands from that era when I was a teenager and hear their new stuff and it's so clear how they've lost it, they sound desperate to recapture a sound/magic that they haven't had in 15 years (holy shit).... And then I realize that is not unlike a lot of us.
