Broken Social Scene

One night after they appeared at Webster Hall, Broken Social Scene played a show at the smaller Music Hall of Williamsburg over in Brooklyn with their Arts & Crafts label-mates Zeus...

"...Saturdays show was the best I've seen them. There's always a sense of discovery with seeing a band for the first time. It's overwhelming, exciting and you become a fan for life. On the hand, location, setlist and performance is what really prevails when you think of memorable concert experiences. With BSS, they've added a handful of fantastic songs from their recent release Forgiveness Rock Record. Texico Bitches, art House Director and Meet Me in the Basement all get the FTW! label..." [Music Snobbery]
The pictures in this post (and the setlist) are from that Saturday night show.

The band's next NYC show will hold more people than Webster Hall and Music Hall combined. It takes place at Central Park Summerstage aka Rumsey Playfield on September 18th (tickets). If you want a more intimate experience head up to Toad's Place in New Haven, CT where they play two days after that, or Theatre of the Living Arts in Philly where they're appearing on September 14th. Those are a few of many tour dates they just announced. All of those, with more pictures from the Brooklyn show, below...

Wow - BV haters even for Broken Social Scene. Why don't you go listen to Yeasayer and suck a dick.

Night's highlight: Kevin Drew schooling group of guys who wouldn't stop talking through even the quieter songs.
Something about coming over to your house next time you have sex and eat hummus at the bed.

nights lowlight: kevin drew introducing a song by saying in a very sincere, faux deep tone, "this is a love song".

Wonderful post and the location is beautiful and elegant in design and information and everything>>> to Favorites
Amazing is an enormous understatement. One of the best electronic shows I've ever been to and I've seen well over a thousand concerts. I had no idea Vladislav Delay was as good a drummer & percussionist as he is- fabulous and he kept everything swinging with a very unique style of playing. If you missed this you missed out big time...
