Fucked Up @ MWTX in Austin (more by Andrew Frisicano)
Fucked Up

Lineups for Brooklyn's Northside Festival are coming together-- and some of the bigger shows (that aren't at Music Hall) are going to be at Greenpoint's Newtown Barge Park. First, Titus Andronicus, Cults and a special guest play an afternoon (1pm) show on Saturday, June 26th. Later that night, Liars, Fucked Up and High Places play the space (6pm). Then the next night (6/27, 6pm), Les Savy Fav performs with Polvo and Grails. Tickets to all three are on sale now. The shows are all ages (badges, which you must be 21+ to purchase, get you in too, capacity permitting).

Northside writes that the shows will be the first at the 1,500-capacity park space. Newtown Barge Park is a triangle of land at the corner of Franklin and Commercial Streets, and is part of the proposed plan (PDF) to expand Williamsburg/Greenpoint's waterfront park space.

The BrooklynVegan Northside show takes place the same Saturday as Titus --> Fucked Up/Liars, but at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Doors for that are 8pm, and it goes later. Tickets are now on sale.

Titus may DO NOT have another Brooklyn show coming up, on Thursday, June 3rd at Glasslands with Boogie Boarder. It has been cancelled. It was supposed to be a benefit for Neighbors Allied for Good Growth, a group frontman Patrick Stickles has talked about before...

Pitchfork: Best Purchase of the Past Year

Patrick Stickles: We can't take too much pride in the things we that own, can we? If I can get on my soapbox for a minute.... Isn't it much more important not what things we bought, but where we bought them? I'd love for you to remind your Brooklyn-based readership that they should make a point of not supporting the new Duane Reade that's moving in across the street from the historic Kings Pharmacy on Bedford Avenue. If you'd pass that along I'd appreciate that a lot. You can read a lot more about it at the website of this community group called Neighbors Allied for Good Growth. We all need to remember to vote with our dollars and take a stand for locally owned independent businesses, because that's what makes American capitalism great.

Maybe they'll reschedule it at a later date.

Grails has a new EP coming out. Grab an MP3 from that.

Fucked Up recently posted a new song that'll appear on a 12" split with Serena-Maneesh. You can get it above. Also, Damian from Fucked Up has been Internet debating the new Arizona immigration laws with fellow Canadian band Stars via Twitter and Stereogum.

Glasslands happening yes or no?

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2010 1:45 PM

I hope tickts for Liars won't be more than $15!

I don't know how this line-up can sell out 1500 capacity space....

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2010 1:47 PM

so the stranger is the latest threat to take down ticketmaster?

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2010 1:48 PM

"I hope tickts for Liars won't be more than $15!"

they're on sale. why don't you just look?

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2010 1:49 PM

$10 for Titus 1pm is a weird time to rock but OK, im in. Will they have beer at Barge Park?

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2010 1:51 PM

got my titus tickets!

glasslands not happening

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2010 1:52 PM

^^ me 2!

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2010 1:53 PM

"glasslands not happening"

confirmed. It is cancelled. post updated.

Posted by brooklynvegan | May 3, 2010 1:58 PM

Anyone know why glasslands cancelled. And 10$ for Titus $15 for Liars. I agree though that 1500 capacity venue seems large. Maybe Liars, Fucked Up, and High Places, could sell out together but unless the special guest for Titus is noteworthy I doubt this will sell out.

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2010 2:03 PM

Is there any way we can get the tickets without the service fees???

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2010 2:04 PM

Move Polvo to Saturday with Titus...Now thats a show.

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2010 2:19 PM

i think titus will sell out. they're getting pretty huge.

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2010 2:21 PM

those two shows+the bv party at night should make this a stellar saturday

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2010 2:24 PM

Same day as New Bomb Turks. Booooo.

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2010 2:33 PM

This guy just moved to Hipsterville and he's telling people what to do hahahhaha....seriously why I hate 99% of hipsters in hipsterville. They think they've been living there all their life yet they just moved there couple of months ago....

I'd love for you to remind your Brooklyn-based readership that they should make a point of not supporting the new Duane Reade that's moving in across the street from the historic Kings Pharmacy on Bedford Avenue

dude is from new jersey you dumb fuck.

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2010 3:25 PM

the GlassLands show is being reschedule to an unknown date at this time.

Not sure I understand why making a point to remind people not to support the corporate expansion of Duane Reade onto Bedford has anything to do with how recently he moved to Brooklyn.

I used to live in Williamsburg a few years ago, but then I moved out to Ridgewood where I can actually afford the rent. Despite Bedford being a total fashion walk, I can still appreciate how few chain retailers there are (Subway being the unfortunate exception, unless I'm forgetting others). Patrick using his modest fame as a platform to raise awareness seems like a perfectly moral thing to do.

oh great, another one of our neighborhood's public parks being taken over for commercial rock shows.

thanks guys!

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2010 5:00 PM

what does Patrick Stickles have to say to the kids of Greenpoint about taking away their park for a weekend and turning it into a toilet? or is he voting with his dollars?

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2010 5:05 PM

if you've been to the end of franklin street, you know that barge park is not actually a park. it's an empty lot NEXT to the park. no one is taking anything from anyone.

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2010 6:55 PM

I LOVE The Stranger and The L Magazine ganging up on ticket master.

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2010 9:34 PM

titus andronicus is horrible.

Posted by Anonymous | May 4, 2010 6:46 AM

The guy from Titus lives in Hipsterville now...no shit, he's from New Jersey. Just like you dumb hipster, 99% of hipsters weren't even born in Brooklyn.

Go back to your Midwest states.

Posted by Anon 3:25 | May 4, 2010 9:33 AM

Remember when that dude was waving around the NJ state flag onstage at McCarren pool?

haha.

Posted by Anonymous | May 4, 2010 4:23 PM

I miss Titus! I haven't seen them since the last time they played Glasslands last year, I think it was. I can't make the June 26th show because I work. Darn it.
