Bono (more by Tim Griffin)

U2 has postponed the first date of its world tour because of a back injury suffered by singer Bono.In other rock star health news, "Bret Michaels had another health setback this week when doctors found a hole in his heart that they think caused him to suffer a warning stroke."The June 3 concert scheduled in Salt Lake City was the continental kick-off for this leg of the band's U2 360 tour.
But future cancellations or postponements remain a possibility, depending on Bono's recovery.Bono underwent emergency surgery today in a hospital in Munich, Germany, and must recover there for a few days. He was injured during a rehearsal. [Chicao Sun Times]

My deepest, heartfelt wishes go out to the greatest, most ground breaking rock 'n roll singer and humanitarian on earth. Bret Michaels, get well soon.

I'm gonna blast Look What The Cat Dragged In tonight. One of the most socio-political, thought provoking, intense, albums of the last three decades. It was the inspiration behind OK Computer for Tom Yorke.

@7:15pm.. I too wish for Bret's speedy recovery but "the most ground breaking humanitarian on earth"...c'mon now...REALLY????...If only Mother Theresa, Pope John PaulII, Ghandi and The Dali Lama could live up to his standard just think how the world would be.

@8:11 You missed the joke, right?
Also I'd like to note that 7:15 used actually irony in a joke. This is opposed to liking something ironically, which is something like enjoying something for it's terribleness, right?
Okay, I'm done.

One day Bono will die. I promise. So now that you know that maybe you can put your hopes towards something a bit more positive.

"Doctors found a hole in his heart." For serious? Is this from the AP wire or a a line from a new lyric from a shitty song?

"There's a hole in my heart that can only be filled by you." Gary and Nuno beat him to it by like 25 years.

The above has to be the funniest, wittiest comment thread I have read in a long time. Thanks for brightening my day!
To the poster who said Bret Michaels was a humanitarian...I'm in love with you.

Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie were really good albums. Got them when they came out, still throw them on at times and think they're great. It saddens me when I hear bands from that era when I was a teenager and hear their new stuff and it's so clear how they've lost it, they sound desperate to recapture a sound/magic that they haven't had in 15 years (holy shit).... And then I realize that is not unlike a lot of us.
