Jay-Z @ Coachella (more by Rachel Carr)
Jay-Z

Jay-Z and Eminem appeared at last night's Yankees game in Detroit (we destroyed them) to announce co-headlining NYC & Detroit shows. They'll be in Comerica Park on September 2nd and Yankee Stadium on September 13th. The show will be the first concert in the new Yankees stadium. Ticket info TBA. A video of the pair on ESPN announcing the shows, and one from the first time Jay-Z performed at the stadium, is below...

Jay-Z = CLOWN!

Dude can't rap and and plays the role of a white collar fool!

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2010 10:11 AM

The teams actually split a double-header yesterday. Hardly a case of destruction.

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2010 10:15 AM

Best rapper of our generation belongs to Doom!

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2010 10:16 AM

I would pay to see Doom, Edan and Lif run circles around the corny gimmicks of Jay and Em.

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2010 10:26 AM

Hey Jay Z has to be everywhere. He's gotta make that $150 Million back for Live Nation and yes 10:11 Jay Z is a clown...most successful promo/marketing man to turn rapper in history. Thanks for helping to ruin Hip Hop Jay...now go drink some sir-cock Vodka w/your boy Diddy.

Incredible how subtly and openly racist you fucking Brooklyn Vegan lilly white faggots are.

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2010 10:49 AM

@10:39....SO true! Dude's all about the money and flaunting expensive things...hip-hop is secondary to him. Jay takes himself WAY to serious! It's all about the marketing because his rhyme skills are atrocious! Vets of the game like Del and Doom could slay him in a battle ANYTIME!

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2010 10:51 AM

I would hardly say Detroit was "destroyed," ass-hat. It was a double-header, which we won game one. By the way, we've beaten the Yankees two out of the last three games.

Posted by Detroit City #1 | May 13, 2010 10:56 AM

fuck the yankees

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2010 11:08 AM

Well... last night's game... the Yankees DID destroy the Tigers. Phil Hughes pitched 7 brilliant shutout innings.

Yes, it's true... so far the Tigers have one 2 out of 3. But the Yankees have generally had a harder time beating CRAPPY teams over the past couple of years. How's Austin Jackson been hitting the past couple days, db? It's a little harder to hit against REAL pitchers in a division that isn't s fucking joke like the AL Central, isn't it?

Sure, our boys in Pinstripes had an off-game yesterday afternoon... but it doesn't take a way from the fact that they are the best team in the majors and will be willing their 28th WS rings this year!

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2010 11:13 AM

I'm white. I'm a fag. I'm no racist and this shit still sucks....black or pure white.

By the way....you bigot asshole...I hope you get your ass kicked by a bunch of fags....black or pure white.

Posted by thighmaster | May 13, 2010 12:18 PM

it's yankee stadium III. they leveled the original one in the 70s.

Live hip-hop in a stadium setting. No thanks.

"Dude's all about the money and flaunting expensive things"

Uh, yeah

"Vets of the game like Del and Doom could slay him in a battle ANYTIME!"

Uh, no. Have you ever listened to Jay rap? One of the best of all time, insane talent. If he spit about comic books over flying lotus beats instead of spitting about being fly over timbo/kayne beats you would think he was a better rapper than Del and Doom. You may not like his content but he has crazy skills, always had and still does (even if the last few albums are spotty). Also, his live show is the best I've seen in hip hop and MUCH better than Doom!

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2010 1:49 PM

Ever since Jay started using a band for his live shows, he's become so much more of a force in that setting. It's true that most hip hop in a live setting blows (and stadium shows are even worse), but this is gonna be nuts either way. And it's a perfect fit. I doubt theyre worrying what Beach House fans think of a Yankee Stadium hip hop show.

And Jay does have a better flow than just about anyone out there; even on songs where his rhymes aren't anything special, his delivery more than makes up for it.

"a forty+ businessman who has never uttered a substantive phrase"

don't be age-ist. he was born when he was born. being a businessman doesn't necessarily make you a bad or worthless person. he has some of the best lines in hip hop history, go listen to reasonable doubt for starters.

"Eminem murdered you on your own shit"

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2010 3:19 PM

Tigers are going to take 3 out of 4 in the series. But yes, the Yankees "destroyed" them in their one win.

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2010 3:31 PM

It's YANKEE Stadium, not YankeeS, asshats!

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2010 4:12 PM

Good thing for Yankee Fans (Not Detroit Fans- if there are any) That world series rings are not won in May. When they are you might have a chance!!

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2010 3:02 PM

Hey Guy who said the shit about the tigers! Maybe if your team could actually build their players and dont just buy them then you could talk shit. A Rod is the biggest douch ive ever seen and the fans look like a bunch of retards.

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2010 3:19 AM

jay z is a dumb nigger and the yankees suk dick. jay shud jus go plug a-rod in the ass and stop talking like such a dumbfuk. matter fact all the yankees fans might as well all get in a big line after the game and let the team bust one in their mouth one by one since they love them so much, and arod is a stupid beaner who takes steroids so suk my dick new york, bitch made faggots.
