Australian electro-pop trio Midnight Juggernauts (Andrew Szekeres, Vincent Vendetta and Daniel Stricker) will be releasing their second album, The Crystal Axis, on May 28th on Siberia Records. A bunch of remixes for their current single "Vital Signs" are posted above. Grab one by Presets member KIM, one by Rewards aka Chairlift member Aaron Pfenning, one each by band members Andy (Turkish Prison mix) and Daniel, and one covered by fellow Aussies Tame Impala (who are coming to Pianos on June 24th). Today there will be a limited-time stream of the record going up on the band's Myspace.

Midnight Juggernauts have a US tour ploted for this July. That includes an NYC date on July 22nd at Santos Party House (hosted by Fixed). Tickets are on sale. Their other date is a July 24th show at Brooklyn Bowl (tix TBA).

Let's hope they'll play longer than their ridiculously short CMJ set last year. People were waiting all evening for them and they played for less than the time it took them to set up the stage.

Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie were really good albums. Got them when they came out, still throw them on at times and think they're great. It saddens me when I hear bands from that era when I was a teenager and hear their new stuff and it's so clear how they've lost it, they sound desperate to recapture a sound/magic that they haven't had in 15 years (holy shit).... And then I realize that is not unlike a lot of us.
