San Diego’s Delta Spirit are set to release their sophomore album History From Below via Rounder Records on June 8th. Already one of my favorite albums of the year, I couldn’t be happier that they let me debut track number two, “Bushwick Blues” on, appropriately, “Brooklyn Vegan”. Like many of their soulful indie-Americana songs, “Bushwick Blues” tells a moving story of love and loss. More specifically it tell the story of a girl, a fellow singer-songwriter even, that the California band’s front-man Matthew Vasquez fell in love with right here in Brooklyn (Bushwick).
