Passion Pit

Passion Pit played a free "Kin"-sponsored show at the Classic Car Club in Tribeca last night (5/14). The location of the NYC event was revealed at 4:00 p.m., and by 4:10 there were people on line to get in. Less than three hours later they closed off the line that wrapped around 2 corners. Passion Pit in turn played to a capacity crowd, some of who were wet from the quick rain storm that hit while people were waiting to get in.

The "Kin secret gig tour" kicked off last week with shows by N.E.R.D., Asher Roth and Yeasayer in San Francisco and continues TONIGHT (5/15) with free Black Keys and Ting Tings shows in NYC. Look for the locations to be revealed on the event's Facebook page.

Just let me finish my latte and then i'm going to tell you about my struggle as an upper class white man.

Posted by Anonymous | May 15, 2010 10:07 PM

Man, that was an amazing show! I was on that long line, and when everyone left, I just stayed there, and then the staff started to let people in. Greatest night of my life! I also got one of their sweaty towels (eh, too much info). Anyways, really good pictures man!

I didn't know they had "Passion Pit" pins. Well......

"Greatest night of my life!"

"I also got one of their sweaty towels"

@Kemet11:24 - I hate to be mean Kemet but you're either really young (I hope) or really sad.

Posted by blackhat | May 16, 2010 10:44 AM

holy shit 11:24

Are you ok?

Posted by Anonymous | May 16, 2010 1:34 PM

blackhat 10:44 and 1:34.....why shit on other people's fun? are your lives that miserable?

Posted by Anonymous | May 16, 2010 2:32 PM

Getting black guys to crowd surf at Passion Pit shows...thats how cool Microsoft secret shows are. But the chicks are fat

Posted by Anonymous | May 16, 2010 3:04 PM

Nothing like crowd surfing while a guy sings in falsetto over a bunch of keyboards. ROCK N FUCKIN ROLLLLLLLLLLL

Posted by Anonymous | May 16, 2010 3:09 PM

which band member used the sweaty towel? is it still unwashed? are you interested in selling it?

Posted by Anonymous | May 16, 2010 5:15 PM

Tim, thanks for the pics! You weren't lying when you said you were gonna post pic #13 hahaha!

Posted by Anonymous | May 17, 2010 12:27 PM

Is that douche drinking a coffee onstage?

Posted by Anonymous | May 17, 2010 12:51 PM

I REALLY DON'T LIKE THIS NEW TREND OF HIPSTERS BEING FAT! DEAR PASSION PIT FAN GIRLS, THEY LOST THEIR WEIGHT YOU SHOULD TOO! NOW WHEN THEY DO SOMETHING ABOUT THEIR FACES, YOU SHLD JOIN IN DAT TOO

Posted by Anonymous | May 17, 2010 5:39 PM

@blackhat and @Anonymous (eh) 10:44 and 1:34: Well, if you only knew what I had to go through to get in lol. Maybe I didn't need to really confess all my excitement, but I swear, it was appropriate at the time :) Also, it was my first Passion Pit concert. You could understand.

And thanks @Anonymous (2:32) for understanding me excitement :)

Posted by Kemet | May 20, 2010 4:24 PM

@Anonymous 5:15 PM: I'm not sure which band member it was, but I'm 100% sure it was one of the members. Ofcourse it is still unwashed. I don't know if I might sell it, but it sounds like a sound idea.

Posted by Kemet | May 21, 2010 2:45 PM

Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie were really good albums. Got them when they came out, still throw them on at times and think they're great. It saddens me when I hear bands from that era when I was a teenager and hear their new stuff and it's so clear how they've lost it, they sound desperate to recapture a sound/magic that they haven't had in 15 years (holy shit).... And then I realize that is not unlike a lot of us.
