Ryan Adams

"Recorded in 2006, ORION is Ryan Adams' first fully-realized sci-fi metal concept album." The limited-edition vinyl/download package ships on May 24th, and is on sale now via Pax.am

Ryan Adams is apparently, currently "computerless down south and writing some new music" (according to his Facebook). His old band The Cardinals meanwhile have been playing and recording with New Zealand singer Gin Wigmore - an "iTunes Session" EP she recorded with the band came out in March.

More info on the RA record is below...

No copies will be sold on compact disc - the only way to get the music is in this limited VINYL+DOWNLOAD configuration containing the following:
* 1xLP on 180 gram clear vinyl
* Artwork by Away (Michel Langevin from Voivod)
* Download card for hi-res (320 kbps) digital version of the album
* Double-sided 24" x 24" poster

why does this exist?

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2010 11:12 AM

because he's earned the right to put out whatever he feels like now.

I was ready to just laugh this off until I saw he hired Away to do the art. That at least says the man is SERIOUS.

it's no 2112

I'm sure this would be great if it were available for anyone to hear, but my guess is there are only 1,000 because it sucks.

Meanwhile 2112 is multiplatinum.
