Local H
Local H

With Velvet Revolver (roffle at that name/band, forever) officially dunzo, Scott Weiland and the rest of the lads in Stone Temple Pilots, who recently played SXSW, are touring off of their forthcoming self-titled album which features "Between The Lines" (video below). That tour now includes a show at the relatively tiny Gramercy Theater in NYC on 5/18 (Tuesday). Tickets go on sale at 10AM Friday, if you're into that sort of thing.

And speaking of the Gramercy on May 18th and the 90s, Local H will play a separate show with Kinch at the same venue on the same night. Tickets are on sale for the NYC date of their "The 6 Angry Records" Tour:

It's all in the numbers... Local H is taking a cue from their sold out, 7 night stand in Chicago and taking all 6 of their studio albums on the road. Every night, the band will put all 6 of their records in a hat (sorry guys, no b-sides); one lucky (?) member of the audience will be selected to pull a record out of that hat and Local H will play it front to back. On the spot... No, really.

And the nominees are:
Ham Fisted
As Good As Dead
Pack Up The Cats
Here Comes The Zoo
Whatever Happened to P.J. Soles?
12 Angry Months

Awesome idea for a tour.... Neurosis, Sonic Youth, Bjork, are you listening? Local H on the road in support of 68 Angry Minutes, their live DVD that hit the shelves in the tail end of last year. Local H and STP tour dates, and some videos are below...

Awesome idea for a tour.... Neurosis, Sonic Youth, Bjork

This would be cool as long as Bjork gets the opening 30 minute set and Neurosis get 3hours

Instead of this go to Pearl Jam

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2010 9:47 PM

they're both overpriced. i choose neither.

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2010 9:54 PM

Pearl Jam is overpriced this tour but its worth it, where as stp was awful on that reunion tour at PNC. And scott weiland solo was pathetic.

in '96 Local H opened for STP at MSG

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2010 10:32 PM

Now in 2010 look who is playing the garden on the 20th and 21st, sold out.

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2010 10:36 PM

who is the incredibly attractive woman in the STP "between lines" vid?

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2010 10:57 PM

That pourer on top really takes away from the beauty of that Makers Mark bottle.

STP still put on a great show..I saw them last year..Would have gone to this if I weren't seeing PJ in Newark...

"Pearl Jam is overpriced this tour but its worth it, where as stp was awful on that reunion tour at PNC. And scott weiland solo was pathetic."
-may have been awful at PNC but destroyed it at Jones Beach-depends on how much H he blows b4 he gets on stage-literally

Saw them at Mohegan Sun was a good show...

Where ya going to tomorrow?
Where ya going with that mask I found?
And I feel, and I feel
When the dogs begin to smell her

Posted by JT | May 14, 2010 9:56 AM

STP '08 @ PNC was pretty weak, '09 at Borgata was very very good.

That said...I'll see ya'll at PJ instead!

Posted by Funderburgh | May 14, 2010 9:57 AM

Sold out in seconds!

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2010 10:05 AM

seconds??? ticketmasters a fukken sham-they werent even on sale. Just like roger waters didnt sell every fukken ticket for the first nights shows on presale before they went to the public

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2010 10:08 AM

Got a pair. Since I can't go, I'll be selling these to friends who got shut out at cost because I'm a nice guy.

Posted by Funderburgh | May 14, 2010 10:09 AM

Will call only...will be hard to sell

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2010 10:19 AM

where do you see will call only friend? I bought 2 and they're ticketfast.

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2010 10:36 AM

10:36 sorry you are right I read the show info quickly..

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2010 10:39 AM

Ticketfast, indeed. I never opt for these usually but I imagine will-call for this will be a shitshow.

Since DOORS are at 945pm (printed right on the tickets), I'm starting to wonder if I can hit this AND Pearl Jam in the same night. Knowing STP they aren't very timely with getting on stage (anyone at PNC 2yrs ago will vouch for that statement) and if they stall until 1130 or so I could possibly hit both of these...

Posted by Funderburgh | May 14, 2010 10:43 AM

Pearl Jam will easily play for 3 hours..will be cutting it close...

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2010 10:44 AM

I've been a 10C member for 12yrs - based on the shows they've played the last 10 days (not to mention the 25 I've been to in my life) I'm expecting 8:30-11pm set for PJ.

Will definitely be cutting it close, I know...but I'll be furious if I find out Wed that I could have gone to both and didn't.

Posted by Funderburgh | May 14, 2010 10:51 AM

As a guy who used to see Pearl Jam a lot...I strongly suggest you lemmings pass on both of these options.

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2010 11:06 AM

yawn

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2010 11:39 AM

Local H still kick ass. STP, not so much

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2010 12:21 PM

holy god i wish my boss would leave so i can take a fucking nap.
also pearl jam will play forever.

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2010 2:09 PM

Local H opened for STP in 1996 when I saw them in Boston

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2010 6:23 PM

Local H is one of the best bands in the world. STP can't hold their jock.
