Amanda Palmer

[Idioteque] IS THE FIRST SINGLE FROM MY FORTHCOMING ALBUM OF RADIOHEAD COVERS, PERFORMED ON MY MAGICAL UKULELE.

WHAT MAKES MY UKULELE SO *MAGIC*?
YOU'LL HAVE TO *LISTEN* TO FIND OUT!!!

THE ALBUM (WHICH WILL BE AVAILABLE HERE ON BANDCAMP IN LATE JULY) WAS RECORDED IN FULL STEREO, AND WAS MAGICALLY FORMATTED FOR USE ON "THE INTERNET"...

FYI, THE MINIMUM REQUIRED DONATION FOR THIS TRACK IS 40¢ BECAUSE 9¢ GOES TO RADIOHEAD (FOR LETTING ME PLAY THEIR SONG) AND THE REMAINDER GOES TO PAYPAL (TO COVER THEIR TRANSACTION FEES). SHOULD YOU WISH TO DONATE MORE THAN THAT, IT WILL COME DIRECTLY TO ME - NO LABEL, NO MIDDLEMAN!

PLEASE BE SURE TO FOLLOW MY NEWS PAGE ON TWITTER AT TWITTER.COM/AFPwire AND SIGN UP FOR THE MAILING LIST AT BIT.LY/AFPemail SO THAT YOU GET ADDITIONAL INFO REGARDING THIS PROJECT BEFORE ANYBODY ELSE.

LOVE,
AMANDA FUCKING PALMER

this is WAY more annoying than an "airplane over the sea" ukele show...

this will be way better than Neutral Uke Hotel, but still pretty lame

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2010 3:01 PM

I'm trying to think of something I would like to hear any less than this...

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2010 3:02 PM

i might be wrong, but i can't help but think this will be a let down to anyone who gets it. wish she just knew how to disappear completely

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2010 3:10 PM

voice is so gross. wish she would go away.

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2010 3:14 PM

HER USE OF CAPS AND RUN-ON SENTENCES IS MAGICAL ITSELF AND I AM SURE EVERYONE IN THE WORLD AT LARGE WILL ENJOY READING HER ANNOUNCEMENT AS MUCH AS I DID.

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2010 3:16 PM

I can't believe I used to love this lady and her music. What the hell, shut the fuck up, you've become a total joke.

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2010 3:21 PM

Fail

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2010 3:25 PM

anybody else want to record some covers on uke?

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2010 3:44 PM

I still like that one time where she asked her fans to put up her and her band when they were in their town, in an effort to get "closer" to the fans. But only if you had beds for the whole crew and breakfast for them in the morning.

I was sitting next to Wayne Coyne at Lazer Floyd a couple years ago, tripping my balls off, and I remember him saying, "What someone really should do is re-record 'Tormato' using only a ngoni and a box of squeaky dog toys. That's what the public needs to hear."

Posted by J | June 14, 2010 3:59 PM

Why?

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2010 4:03 PM

I wish someone would sit that girl down and have a long talk with her about her hummus definciancy.

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2010 4:13 PM

Daft Punk covers Steven Seagal's "Songs From the Crystal Cave" entirely on melodica.

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2010 4:17 PM

never listened to this person before or dresden dolls. i think this cover is cool.

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2010 4:29 PM

The only thing I like about her is Neil Gaiman.

Posted by KC | June 14, 2010 4:55 PM

John Tesh and an all-star kazoo orchestra cover the music of GG Allin.

Posted by Brian Farrelly | June 14, 2010 5:04 PM

Why are we still being punished with more music from Amanda Palmer?

Just ignore her and hopefully she will go away

Sometimes I play the drum solo of "whole lotta love" on a Quaker oats box. I'm looking for a record deal. Check out my myspace account...

This is not as bad as I thought it would be, but I'd never pay a cent for it. I probably wouldn't listen to it more than a few times.

Hey 9:12, does your mommy and daddy know you're on the internet at this hour!?! Get back to bed young lady!

I just heard her next project is going to be a double CD of Coltrane re-interpretations for the recorder!

Posted by Anymouse | June 14, 2010 10:28 PM

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2010 10:34 PM

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2010 12:19 PM

Amanda Palmer looks exactly like Divine.

Posted by GTF | June 15, 2010 3:09 PM

So what's the deal with Merriweather Post Pavillion tickets?

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2010 3:19 PM

Amanda Palmer is the Tiny Tim of our time. They could be twins, actually.

I saw Dresdon Dolls supporting Devotchka one time in Boston, and they were great. Then I saw them a year or so later and they were irritating and under-rehearsed.

I guess things are still deteriorating.

Liked Dresden Dolls' cover of "War Pigs," though.

Wonderful post and the location is beautiful and elegant in design and information and everything>>> to Favorites
Amazing is an enormous understatement. One of the best electronic shows I've ever been to and I've seen well over a thousand concerts. I had no idea Vladislav Delay was as good a drummer & percussionist as he is- fabulous and he kept everything swinging with a very unique style of playing. If you missed this you missed out big time...
