I hate music.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 10:52 AM

Wow, I have to think a second MSG show at this stage is a stretch, but... Would've loved to have gone for the two-fer but Metric's free show is the same night. Besides, AF have only three albums (+EP), their setlist won't be that varied, right?

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 10:52 AM

oh yeah... no way Arcade Fire can sell out MSG. 300 and 400 sections will be empty, huh?

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 10:53 AM

august 3rd = better fucking be a small secret show. msg assholes owe us one.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 10:55 AM

hahahha who do they think they are? Radiohead or something?

I hate you Bowery Presents for booking them there.....or more importantly their booking agent!

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 10:58 AM

I like Emily Haines but Metric is only cool if you are an angsty 14 year old girl.

I'm listening to Wovenhand right now and think you are a sissy...just sayin'

Saw Britt Daniel in the VIP section at the BOH/GB show in Williamsburg last night.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 11:07 AM

^^^ soooOooOo kewl....did you ask him about transference and how much you luv "grower" or "difficult" albums?

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 11:08 AM

Is Transference a "difficult" album? Shit rules.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 11:12 AM

Wowie 2 nights at MSG! I can't wait to score a cheap ticket to the second night on ebay...$20 should do it...

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 11:12 AM

Difficult to listen to, yes. Spoon rules, but that album was a stinker.

Posted by Scott | June 21, 2010 11:14 AM

Now this is getting ridiculous...

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 11:19 AM

"difficult" in that it "sucks to listen to." make albums as good as ga ga ga ga ga every time please, no more minimal cop outs.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 11:22 AM

Please, no more fucking Arcade Dire!

We don't need a new U2.

We don't need a new Brooce.

"Win" Butler is a loser.

ARCADE DIRE IS KILLING MUSIC.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 11:25 AM

Britt was at the Eddy Current show Friday night.

Posted by soysalami | June 21, 2010 11:26 AM

11:25 who is Brooce? Is he Italian?

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 11:29 AM

Remember Justice?

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 11:30 AM

its funny how on these posts they always call merriweather post pavilion a dc venue. its really much closer to baltimore.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 11:31 AM

@11:25

Here is the attention you so desperately crave....F--king D-bag!

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 11:33 AM

11:31 same thing with Giants Stadium it is in NJ...

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 11:35 AM

11:31... it's about a half hour from both. Who cares?

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 11:37 AM

I didn't know they were an arena band....

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 11:43 AM

Will someone explain what "Arcade Dire" means and how is it a clever play on words?

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 11:45 AM

It's like "fire" but it means hopeless or desperate! HOPELESS ARCADE!!!

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 11:59 AM

Within a couple hours of the first show going on sale the only tickets left were in the 400 section. That means you add another show. So, yes, while you were sleeping they became a big act.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 12:01 PM

If you guys just want to see Spoon, they'll be playing their own headlining show at the Waterfront on Sep 10th:)

Posted by Jonny Greenwood is the man | June 21, 2010 12:02 PM

They've always been an arena band in waiting, they make huge music and have a big, dramatic stage presence. Even when they were playing Mercury and Bowery it seemed like they had a chance to one day be playing MSG (for better or worse, if you like them or not). I don't think it's that surprising.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 12:05 PM

When do Spoon's September 10th show go on sale?

Posted by Venkman | June 21, 2010 12:12 PM

"Arcade Dire" is a pretty poor attempt at a pejorative name for this band. Not really witty at all. Can't you at least be a little more creative with your insults?

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 12:17 PM

"Brooce" is another one of Win Butler's idols, as in Springsteen.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 12:18 PM

Arcade Dire has a bunch of used anthems for sale, cheap!

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 12:19 PM

Ahhhh, the ANTHEMIC ROCK of ARCADE DIRE!!!

When Bono finally keels over from carrying the weight of his EGO around, Winny the Pooh will be ready to take his place!

THAT GOES FOR FRENCH-CANADIANS, TOO, WHO CAME WITHIN A WHISKER OF BREAKING UP CANADA A FEW YEARS AGO.

AND DON'T TRUST QUEBECOIS WHO ARE REALLY FROM TEXAS -- RIGHT, WINNY THE POOH?

Quebec boasts some of the world's hottest strippers: was that what the goils in Arcade Dire did before they hit the big-time?

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 2:21 PM

I am almost 100% certain that the Arcade Dire guy is also the Twent Weznor guy from all those old NIN posts. What an annoying guy.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 2:34 PM

I am almost 100% certain that 2:34 is both is Dire, Weznor and prob many other un-funny monikers that litter these posts. If you were here I'd throw my DUNKACCINO on you....second thought, I'd never waste my DUNKACCINO on a fool like you!

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 2:52 PM

TWENT WEZNOR? hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 3:07 PM

Why do I get the felling that some of the members of Arcade Fire posted comments "Anonymous"

Posted by jacob j | June 21, 2010 3:07 PM

Well, I'm the Arcade Dire guy and if you ever threw anything on me I'd break your jaw, so feel free to try.

Posted by Arcade Dire | June 21, 2010 3:14 PM

I think Winny the Pooh is reading this board -- hey Win, you suck. Retire now and help save rock and roll.

Posted by Arcade Dire | June 21, 2010 3:17 PM

Hey Arcade Dire guy... I'll one up you... how about I pee on your fucking face? it'll be hard to break my jaw when you're cleaning the urine out of your eyes.

And you are the "twent weznor" DB, right?

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 3:28 PM

Hey asshole, the next "show" I'm going to is David Tua in Atlantic City. You want to meet up there, let me know, and have your insurance paid up.

Posted by Arcade Dire | June 21, 2010 3:34 PM

who the fuck is david tua? where is atlantic city?

and i've got insurance through my full-time job. not that i'll need it for you, you little pansy.

idiots like you can only talk a big game anonymously on blogs. when someone asks where you'll be in "real life", all you can come up is some lame show that nobody has ever heard of in some hick down on the jersey shore.

how about something in manhattan or brooklyn, moron?

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 3:40 PM

I'd buy tickets for FART GAY CHOIR.

I guess you'll find out when we meet.

Posted by Arcade Dire | June 21, 2010 3:48 PM

The dead giveaway is he's never even heard of Atlantic City. LOL!

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 3:51 PM

fucking twent weznor idiot. oh well. i guess now we're going to have to listen to this same fuckwad made "arcade dire" jokes for the next 6 months.

NIN was awesome last year, and AF will kick ass this year. Just like ArcadeDire/TwentWeznor will get HIS ass kicked.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 3:53 PM

i'm not from ohio nor do i live in brooklyn.

and i actually have been to AC (was being facetious with that comment), so I know it is a total hick town.

See you in Atlantic City. Ohio boy.

Posted by Arcade Dire | June 21, 2010 3:56 PM

He doesn't know what it is and has been googling and asking his co-workers about it for the last half-hour.

SO Overrated. These guys have a formula that they repeat over and over. Somehow it goes over as being 'earnest'.

Posted by PutridSputum | June 21, 2010 4:32 PM

4:32 -- right on, bro.

"Earnest" like U2 is "earnest."

It's so contrived it ain't funny.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 4:35 PM

does it really take a half-hour of research to discover that Atlantic City is a putrid shithole?

i know you guys are just having fun, but i'm pretty sure that guy actually knows what AC is. you would kind of have to be living under a rock your entire life to have never heard of it.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 4:41 PM

I thought Earnest went to jail

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 4:45 PM

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 4:47 PM

Answer to 4:47: Arcade Dire, deffo.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 4:48 PM

If you want proof that rock and roll is dead, Arcade Fire doing two nights at MSG is pretty definitive.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 4:50 PM

i need to stay away from this threat. the mind-numbing stupidity is boundless!

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2010 4:52 PM
