"Bonnaroo traffic is off the chain! 20 miles on each side backed up!" - Brittany Harris

Bonnaroo 2010

"Organizers promise the festival, now in its ninth year, will be bigger and better than ever before. More than 80,000 people are expected to attend this year's event, the largest crowd since 2007.

The stages and tents have been set for the continuous concerts, but festival attendees will have tons of other things to do as well. Concert-goers can participate in water games, play sand volleyball and take yoga classes. Big-screen televisions will also be set up on the grounds to show events such as the FIFA World Cup and the NBA Finals.

"Because we're a 24-hour event, we have a lot of time to entertain people with things other than music," said festival promoter Rick Farman. "I really think that's one of the things that makes Bonnaroo unique."

Big-name artist such as Kings of Leon and Dave Matthews are expected to take the stage over the weekend, along with Jay-Z and NeedToBreathe." [WSMV Nashville]

The four-day Bonnaroo 2010 festival kicks off today, June 10th, in Manchester, TN, with 4:15pm sets (Central time) by the Postelles and Fanfarlo. Tickets are still on sale if you want to gas up the jet and fly down.

For those not going, select sets will be streaming at NPR and on YouTube starting Friday. The NPR band lineup and the YouTube schedule is posted below...

Dave Matthews needs to seriously fuckin die

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 1:42 PM

Dave mathews = Hacky Sack rock.
JZ = bottle service Hip Hop.
The headliners are a little weak, but it still looks like a great festival!

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 1:50 PM

Dave Matthews is the worsttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 2:04 PM

I could have booked better headliners if they let me

Posted by Skippy | June 10, 2010 2:05 PM

What time does Daft Punk go on?

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 2:11 PM

at least on the right track of how festival streaming should go.
lineups & time allotments will improve

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 2:14 PM

@1:42 I don't care for Matthews' music either but I'd rather something bad happen to you than him. Just sayin

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 2:27 PM

I love me some DMB, lets get this sing along going:

He wakes up in the morning
Does his teeth bite to eat and he's rolling
Never changes a thing
The week ends the week begins
She thinks, we look at each other
Wondering what the other is thinking
But we never say a thing
These crimes between us grow deeper

take these chances
place them in a box until a quiter time
lights down, you up and die

Goes to visit his mommy
She feeds him well his concerns
He forgets them
And remembers being small
Playing under the table and dreaming

Take these chances
Place them in a box until a quieter time
Lights down, you up and die
Driving in on this highway
All these cars and upon the sidewalk
People in every direction
No words exchanged
No time to exchange

When all the little ants are marching
Red and black antennas waving
we all do it the same
we all do it the same way

Candyman teasing the thoughts of a
Sweet tooth tortured by the weight loss
Programs cutting the corners
Loose end, loose end, cut, cut
On the fence, could not to offend
Cut, cut, cut, cut

Take these chances
Place them in a box until a quieter time
Lights down, you up and die

thanks 2:31 that actually made me laugh

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 2:35 PM

Dave Mathews makes me want to move to northern California and become "chill" and have a positive attitude. Two things I hate. Stay out of the east coast Dave. We hate you.

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 2:35 PM

1:50...tru dat, tru dat!

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 2:38 PM

Yea. I don't understand why people like JZ. His lyrics are weak and he is the perfect example of why mainstream hip hop sucks now. Where is smif & wesson when you need them?

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 2:40 PM

That Jay-Z show is over the top and will make you shit your pants. The band is amazing and the production is over the top. I was a disbeliever like many at Coachella this year, afterwords we were all bowing down. However most of the people on this comment board never leave Greenpoint they wouldn't know, so rain the criticism!!

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 2:45 PM

ok, maybe i was a little harsh with the Dave Matthews should die thing. but he should at least get lemon juice squirted in his eye

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 2:46 PM

Nas is better then JZ.
Biggie better then Tupac.
These facts are not open to debate.

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 2:47 PM

Dave Matthews is corny, so is Kid Cudi. Jimmy Cliff is the man although I'd rather be sippin on a DUNKACCINO!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 2:50 PM

20 mile back up in every direction. that is a good reason to stay home and watch it on the web.

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 2:52 PM

245 cool story bro. sounds like you had a moment of clarity. i'm going to check out j, where's a good place to start? is there a steep learning curve? i mostly listen to z100. thanks

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 2:54 PM

I wouldn't even let Jay-Z hold my DUNKACCINO!!!

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 3:25 PM

hey dunkaccino guy--stop trying to start a meme. they have to be natural. you're just an asshole.

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 3:36 PM

They should have put LCD before Jay Z. It would have made for a sicker party. Kings of Leon is a snooze fest.

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 3:44 PM

Bonnaroo
doesnt matter who is playing
and there is definitely no sense of time

ah, good times

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 4:30 PM

why do kings de leon only get a half hour?

psyched for the norah jones set ...

Posted by James Snuka | June 10, 2010 5:20 PM

Went last year. It was great. Lineup this year kept me away, and I think a few thousand others. NYT says they still have 15,000 tickets to sell.

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 5:48 PM

I like this party a lot. I call it "Boner-oo"

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 5:59 PM

Went last year too ...so awesome. Wish I was going this year but you can't have it all.

I've never seen Stevie Wonder before

It kinda didn't matter last year where I was honestly ...was a could long weekend of music.

Posted by Burg | June 10, 2010 6:00 PM

All I wanna know is where is Chromeo with Daryl Hall?

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 8:28 PM

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 8:49 PM

I've never seen Stevie Wonder before

Neither has Stevie Wonder

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 9:58 PM

really weak headliners.

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 9:59 PM

I NEED MORE THAN A HALF HOUR OF WEEN TO SURVIVE!!!

Posted by Max P | June 11, 2010 1:21 PM

FUCK JAY-Z!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AHHH!!! SHITT ON HIM!!

Posted by ??? | June 12, 2010 7:25 PM

That lineup is totally wrong. They left off the act that drew the biggest crowd all weekend.. stevie wonder

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2010 9:13 AM

Just came across this picture. Saw that sign on the way into Bonnaroo and on the way out, regretted not grabbing my camera. So who is this Bonnaroo God and why does he love everybody?
For my money, Flaming Lips, Stevie Wonder, and Carolina Chocolate Drops were my favorites.

Posted by basshole | June 16, 2010 11:46 PM

you dave haters can go fuck yourselves. bonnaroo 2010 was 4 of the best days of my life. the DMB and JayZ headliners at the main stage were two of the best shows I've ever seen, musically and production speaking. 2011 'roo is going to be amazing. Phish headlining?

Posted by Anonymous | October 6, 2010 11:14 PM

Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie were really good albums. Got them when they came out, still throw them on at times and think they're great. It saddens me when I hear bands from that era when I was a teenager and hear their new stuff and it's so clear how they've lost it, they sound desperate to recapture a sound/magic that they haven't had in 15 years (holy shit).... And then I realize that is not unlike a lot of us.
