taking a ferry to Governors Island (more by Ryan Muir)
Governors Island

The free Dr. Dog show happening at Governors Island was unfortunately scheduled on the same day as the free Siren Festival in Coney Island (July 17th), but not anymore. Dr. Dog is now happening on Sunday, August 15th. Stay tuned for more info.

This Saturday's free show at Governors Island meanwhile is still going on as planned with the Morning Benders, Freelance Whales and Wild Nothing. Try to get there as early as you can. Yeasayer two weeks ago "sold out" by 7:30pm (not sure how their popularity compares to this week's lineup). If you can't be there, you can also stream the show on Converse Radio.

And speaking of the Siren Festival, they just announced the rest of their lineup.

Speaking of Wild Nothing, they also open the sold out Neon Indian show at MHOW tonight (6/17).

i wonder if tears for fears would have drawn as much as yeasayer? i say that because they're much better and yeasayer totally rip off their early material.

though it'd be great to see both, it was probably better to keep them the same day and disperse the crowds between the two. Now they'll BOTH be clusterfucks.

freelance whales suck a turd out of my ass.

@6:37PM

You are so wrong. They blow turds into asses. And then sucks them out and poop them into more asses. But seriously. That band is the fucking worst. I hate to bring up Pitchfork, but that review and 4.2 rating for their album made me squeal with delight.

Wonderful post and the location is beautiful and elegant in design and information and everything>>> to Favorites
Amazing is an enormous understatement. One of the best electronic shows I've ever been to and I've seen well over a thousand concerts. I had no idea Vladislav Delay was as good a drummer & percussionist as he is- fabulous and he kept everything swinging with a very unique style of playing. If you missed this you missed out big time...

I also want a shirt with two oranges! It's really funny, and definitely I was looking for something similar in the stores.
