DOWNLOAD: Flying Lotus - 3 non-album tracks (ZIP)

Electric Zoo 2009 (more by Zach Dilgard)
Electric Zoo

The lineup for this year's Electric Zoo, on Randall's Island September 4th and 5th, has been updated and now includes Major Lazer, Flying Lotus, Rusko, Steve Aoki and more, which are all listed below. The headliner for night one is Chemical Brothers; night two's is Armin van Buuren. Tickets are on sale.

Major Lazer, who put on a great show, have upcoming shows at Pitchfork Fest and Camp Bisco this summer, plus lots of festivals in Asia and Europe. They recently put out a mixtape with La Roux called LAZERPROOF, which you can get that for free here.

Electric Zoo is Flying Lotus' only US gig currently. His LP Cosmogramma came out earlier this year, and he'll have an EP out before it ends.

1997 called. They want their bracelets back. I think I hear some cheesy happy house in the background.

Posted by Heavy Street | June 9, 2010 4:27 PM

1997? Those bracelets weren't even cool then, nor in the 60's. wot a douche...

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 4:36 PM

the joke is on him if he's actually forced to listen to major lazer...

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 4:37 PM

Major Loser

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 4:43 PM

Oh my God

This festival sounds like my worst nightmare

Jesus Christ the people there...

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 4:44 PM

i thought we were only gonna read about camera obscura from now on...?

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 4:47 PM

let the douches have their fun. at least they are all going to be isolated on an island.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 4:54 PM

definitely not worth the $. there was only one good tent/stage last year (out of 4), and all the greaseball, drunken, pilled-out, d-bags from jersey and connecticut ruined the experience for me.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 4:57 PM

BAHAHA

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 5:03 PM

I'm just glad this festival of feces is the same weekend as ATP. It will act as a nice douche bag filter.

You guys shouldn't make jokes about the guy with the colorful bracelets on. It's really not nice to make jokes about disabled people.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 5:10 PM

Someone should suicide bomb that festival and do us all a favor.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 5:35 PM

I like Dirty Projectors, I like Animal Collective, and I like LCD Soundsystem, but this looks like a party and a half.

Time for the crazy Eddie to make it's triumphant return.

"let the douches have their fun. at least they are all going to be isolated on an island."

You mean Manhattan?

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 6:52 PM

needs more minimal electro

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 6:59 PM

Last year was harmless fun and this year the lineup is tad better. The B&T crowd was literally half the entertainment and seriously everyone was just having a good time. Drugs? Lot of X but that's why these events exist. Mostly safe place to listen to top notch electronica and party.

Where's the bad in that?

ATP v. Electric Zoo...it's not even a good premise for a discussion. Different strokes for different folks.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 7:18 PM

its a shame that this music got hijacked by a bunch of tools...the new chemical bros album is actually pretty good.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 7:45 PM

745 that could be said for all genres

MEHjor Lazor

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 9:49 PM

The MEH stuff is just so cheesy. Ruins this site for me. Really lame.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 10:40 PM

^^^
Agreed. As a woman I have a hard time believing the MEH guys have ever seen a live vagina.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 10:43 PM

^^^

how do you know they're guys?

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 11:26 PM

105.9 The Lazer

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 12:35 AM

The hummus guy is more entertaining then the Meh guy.

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 1:01 AM

I wish there was some more drum and bass.

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 1:04 AM

the hummus stuff is incredibly not funny. and i dont think there is a "meh guy" anymore. brooklyn vegan would have to check the ip addresses but there's probably at least a dozen people who've done it at some point, i'd guess higher. and no, im not a fan either.

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 1:12 AM

Well I'm not a fan of 1:12's bad attitude. Quit hating on the hummus man.

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 1:35 AM

I truly enjoy sabra supremely spicy hummus. Anxiously awaiting your response.

Yours truly,

I like how "MEH" is what ruins the website for you 10:40. For me it's all the negativity about EVERYTHING.

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 10:45 AM

the positivity here is what i hate

sabras is leaving astorias - how did bv not cover this?

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 11:09 AM

what a douche!

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 1:41 PM

"sabras is leaving astorias"

WHAT

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 5:36 PM

That photo is not a good representation of the friendly and enthusiastic crowd.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 8:25 PM

THE GUY IN THIS PICTURE IS F*CKING AWESOME. MAD REAL, MAD SMART, MAD COOL DUDE. YALL ARE HATERS.

Posted by Anonymous | August 1, 2010 1:27 PM

i know im talkin shit but most of the ppl on this page just sound pathetic stop wasting your lives talking shit on the internet ..if u dont have anything nice to say dont say anything. electric zoo last year was fun as hell and this year is gonna be doopppeee! suck it haters

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2010 11:46 AM

candy went out of style a long time ago but dont talk shit on him. Party should be good im going and its sad you talk shit online.

Posted by Jblaze | August 13, 2010 1:25 PM

I won't claim to know shit about Lazor, but I really hope he donned all that crap as a joke & took it off immediately after the photo. I mean, best case scenario is he's taking a shot at the "candy" culture, but I seriously doubt that and would probably have to agree he's simply being a toolbox.

Posted by M-Rod | August 16, 2010 11:54 AM

awwwww hipsters with attitudes, you and all your negative comments just gave me a good laugh! The kid with the bracelets is all good with me, the rest of you standing in a circle in the back of the room making fun not so cool. Get over your selves, just because it's no longer in the mainstream does not mean there are not still people out there that enjoy it! As soon as its ok to like house music again kids 5 years younger than you will make fun of your headbands =) CHEERS!

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2010 10:55 PM

Still not coachella but sounds fun.

STFU ALL YOU AND STOP SPREADING POISON

Posted by Anonymous | August 31, 2010 10:07 PM

Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie were really good albums. Got them when they came out, still throw them on at times and think they're great. It saddens me when I hear bands from that era when I was a teenager and hear their new stuff and it's so clear how they've lost it, they sound desperate to recapture a sound/magic that they haven't had in 15 years (holy shit).... And then I realize that is not unlike a lot of us.

you dave haters can go fuck yourselves. bonnaroo 2010 was 4 of the best days of my life. the DMB and JayZ headliners at the main stage were two of the best shows I've ever seen, musically and production speaking. 2011 'roo is going to be amazing. Phish headlining?

Posted by وظائف | January 30, 2011 3:23 PM

they also played at a place called Tramps in april '99 losers. with qotsa. where were you? you guys sound pretty angry? go listen to something hip. whatever the fuck you think that is. why does james iha need to be in the band for them to be good? that makes no sense. so the band changed lineups. oh well.
