Fiery Furnaces

Too many shows this weekend and the Fiery Furnaces contribute to the madness with previously mentioned shows at Brooklyn Bowl (Friday) and Mercury Lounge (Saturday), and a gig at Maxwell's in Hoboken tonight (Thursday, June 24th). Comedian John Mulaney supports on all dates. The Brooklyn show is part of Northside and also includes a set by Woom who are also opening the Beirut shows at MHOW (but not the Beirut show at the Guggenheim).

All three FF gigs still have tickets available and they are listed again below...

Fiery Furnaces & John Mulaney - 2010 Tour Dates
Jun 24 - Maxwell's Hoboken, NJ
Jun 25 - Brooklyn Bowl Brooklyn, NY
Jun 26 - Mercury Lounge New York, NY

great to see the most pretentious band of the last decade is having trouble selling out a small club in nyc. Way to go guys!

John Mulaney is one funny dude. Saw him at the Knox benefit. Hysterical stuff.

Wake up guys, They're probably the most ambitious and inventive band of the past decade.

I can easily understand people not liking this band. However, I can not understand how anyone could say that they are lame or pretentious. I think they are refreshingly unique (very rare in this current crop of bands), immensely talented (musically-speaking), and always entertaining to see perform.
And aside from that, as a big Sebadoh fan, I love the fact that Jason L is in the band.

Of all those bands that started around the '03 - '04 mark, this is the one that still matters...the rest of those hopefuls all sorta petered out

Maxwell's show was great; band sounds better and tighter than ever.

Great show earlier at Maxwells, going to probably go again on Saturday. Glad to see them in great form.

Apart from the grandma record and the live one...their output is quite impressive. I agree with 8:20. Check back in a few years and they will still be forging ahead of the rest...plus Eleanor has a real presence that cannot be denied!

I like this band and I do think they are talented I just think they spend a lot of time making their music more difficult than it needs to be. I applaud them for constantly experimenting but they rarely play to their strengths

Fiery Furnaces put on a great show at Brooklyn Bowl last night.

Not my cup of tea but my partner really enjoyed them. Each to their own.
