Interpol

Interpol played live for the first time in a very long time last night in Rochester, tickets are still on sale for their Friday night show in Allentown, they debut their new lineup to NYC on Saturday night, and they just added a proper show at Montclair, NJ's Wellmont Theatre which will take place on August 4th. $32.00 tickets or that one go on sale Friday at noon.

Wow! that won't sell too hot!

Wellmont = best venue of its size in the area. Bowery's other option would have been Term5. This is a much better option, even if it requires a bus ticket.

Bus ticket? NJ Transit train from NY Penn to Bay St, Montclair direct. Assuming you're coming from NYC...

Will Carlos be in Wellmont?

"Will Carlos be in Wellmont?"

um, really?

that is a great venue for shows, and the audience tends to be way more into it than NYC audiences. Definitely thumbs up.

Arcade Fire are playing MSG the same night which is a bit of a bad scheduling effort, but whatevs.

Aw shoot, was all set to go for this but then 9:12 reminded me Arcade Fire is that night...why are all the shows being packed into a two week period (it feels like it anyway)? Hope they do a proper NYC show soon...

Same night as Hot Chip too!

announce a real nyc date. pretty shitty for an nyc band to just play shows around its hometown.

Posted by Anonymous | June 22, 2010 10:41 PM

i agree with 10:03
way too many shows the same two weeks: Robyn/Kelis, Arcade Fire, Spiritualized, now this
WTF

10:41: you know nothing about the music business

Posted by Anonymous | June 23, 2010 1:19 AM

Yes, 10:41 skipped the pre-requisite business class for posting on BV. Thanks for keeping us in line 1:19.

Posted by Anonymous | June 23, 2010 1:47 AM

I guess you have to be a spoiled New Yorker, or lets say hipsters who didn't grow up in NYC to post on BV.

Posted by Anonymous | June 23, 2010 1:52 AM

1:19 i guess i dont? does that mean that they should still avoid playing in nyc?

Posted by Anonymous | June 23, 2010 8:43 AM

Seriously, is it not obvious why they aren't playing in NYC? They have a new lineup, their record isn't out yet, and you only get one shot at first impressions. Are you that dense, or can you only see your own selfish desires?

Posted by Anonymous | June 23, 2010 12:21 PM

Umm 12:21 they are playing NYC on Saturday so you theory makes no sense...mmmmmkay!

Posted by Anonymous | June 23, 2010 12:28 PM

Ummm 12:28 they're not really playing NYC. They're doing some pretentious small studio show that wasn't open to the public (except for a piddling amount of free tix).

This band is a sinking ship. They won't even sell out the Wellmont at this point. But at least they were smart and put the show on like the only date in August where there are several big shows already happening in NY (Arcade Fire, HotChip). Wellmont is fine and all, but security are super dicky and seriously what is up with those ghetto signs all around the venue trying to get folks to follow the venue on Twitter?!?!? So lame...someone should send them a new laminator.

Why are you talking about venues? It's really about music.Jesus Christ you're such bitches having just visited this site for the first time.So negative..Go to listen to music not complain about "dicky" security.Hot Chip are bollocks anyway.
