Interpol

Interpol played their first hometown set since unveiling their new lineup earlier in the week, at the Vice/Intel Creators Project event at Milk Studios on Saturday (6/26) (at the same time as Die Antwoord who were playing upstairs). Pictures and the setlist from that show are in this post.

Interpol's next NYC show happens in November at United Palace in Washington Heights. Tickets for that one are on AmEx presale now. General sale starts Thursday at 10am.

Interpol's new Matador album now has a cover and a tracklist. That's below with the Intel pictures too...

Guilty by reason of meh.

great show

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2010 1:14 PM

my verdict is they should stop. their heyday is long gone.

was in a cab on saturday, and thought i heard someone blaring interpol from their car, and immediately thought, "really? blaring interpol?" then drove past that garage space near chelsea car wash where they were playing, and then thought, "yea, i post to brooklynvegan..."

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2010 1:17 PM

i think 1:17 was blaring interpol from their car and thinking - i should write a useless comment on bv.

saw an ad last night on ESPN for the united palace show, seemed to be bought by Amex, but perhaps Bowery Presents. it was quite odd to see and i'm sure not cheap.

Didn't this band used to have some cool moustaches?

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2010 1:22 PM

so, lemme get this straight.... we don't like Interpol because there not a "new" band? seems like there catalog is holding up to me...

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2010 1:32 PM

Duh, 1:32. BV readers only like bands that haven't come out yet.

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2010 1:37 PM

like the band Ken Griffey Jr. for example

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2010 1:55 PM

Nihilism at its finest

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2010 1:56 PM

Any band that has an album is totally lame.

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2010 2:08 PM

Ken Griffey Jr. will be the next Neon Dion.

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2010 2:11 PM

The verdict is it was an amazing show.

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2010 2:13 PM

I don't think their catalog holds up.

Posted by LKJ | June 29, 2010 2:36 PM

ok, 2:36... just listened to bright lights... didn't have an issue w/ any track, will try antics in a bit and let u know how that goes.

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2010 2:43 PM

the interpol catalog holds up just as well as the victorias secret catalog

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2010 2:47 PM

the show in buffalo was pretty sick

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2010 3:02 PM

2:43 Bright Lights wasn't even good when it came out. Enjoy...

Posted by LKJ | June 29, 2010 3:02 PM

2:47 That is very well then..They have the pushup bra you know!?

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2010 3:02 PM

did you know, that interpol records sound better when placed on a platter covered in hummus?

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2010 3:02 PM

They're their there.

Posted by Regular reader | June 29, 2010 3:05 PM

awesome show.

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2010 3:25 PM

3:02.... i look forward to you saying the same thing about Sleigh Bells in 3 yrs... if it even takes that long

Posted by Anonymous | June 29, 2010 4:17 PM

4:17 Sleigh Bells is terrible now. I wouldn't have their album if I got fifty free copies, they'd be in the garbage can. How is that for you?

Posted by LKJ | June 29, 2010 6:24 PM

Serious question: is there a band that is lamer than Interpol?

The boring live shows, their "new logo", the new album cover, anything released since 2004.....

Seriously, this band is horrid.

Posted by Venkman | June 29, 2010 11:11 PM

Seriously 1:32- impressive misuse of the word 'there' in all possible ways. Cheers to you

Posted by anonymoose | June 30, 2010 12:24 AM

Saw them in Allentown and they may have started off kinda slow, but otherwise a pretty damn good show. Actually, I have to say I enjoyed them more live than listening to an album. Don't understand why there are those who waste their time to moan and bitch. Just keep it moving here people. Yes, keeping your mouth shut...errr, fingers off the keyboard is an option believe it or not.

Tired of hearing all these comments about how boring they are. Complaining that they just stand there playing their instruments. I don't need to see a band dance around and boogey while playing an instrument. If I did I would just go see the Marching Band of Harlem.

i like rock music with original riffs and lyrics, not to mention a great live show..interpol are GOOD

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2010 10:46 AM

American people are fucking idiots.Music is fucked because of negative people. If you don't like it,simply visit another page...it's really not that difficult. Also, people who use the word lame are lame.Stupid cunt.
