So it's no longer "Irving Plaza at Phil Graham Presents the Fillmore East but Not the Original Fillmore East"?

Same as it ever was
Same as it ever was

saw some of my first shows at irving....underrated venue for sure, though almost no good bands have been booked recently

If they wanted people to call it the Fillmore NYC that should have dropped the 'at Irving Plaza' from the 'new' name. But instead they were perplexed that people kept referring to it as Irving Plaza.

This is where your convenience charges go, people!

If they don't start booking decent acts this doesn't matter.

Posted by Anonymous | June 24, 2010 2:17 PM

fillMEHr east

Posted by Anonymous | June 24, 2010 2:19 PM

Bill Graham can rest now...

Posted by Anonymous | June 24, 2010 2:19 PM

Still blows my mind that they would try to turn that venue into a piece of a national chain. Just staggeringly stupid.

Posted by Anonymous | June 24, 2010 2:19 PM

only recent decent act I can think of was The Jesus Lizard. and now Built to Spill are playing there... I think that's it...

Posted by Anonymous | June 24, 2010 2:41 PM

The original Fillmore is in San Francisco not NY

Posted by Anonymous | June 24, 2010 2:43 PM

there were 2 original fillmores. one in SF and one here. sf was first

Posted by Anonymous | June 24, 2010 3:09 PM

does this mean they will bring back good shows?

Posted by Anonymous | June 24, 2010 3:17 PM

No good shows? Next month both Built to Spill and Ariel Pink are playing there! Show some respect

Posted by Anonymous | June 24, 2010 3:23 PM

it was never anything else...

Posted by Anonymous | June 24, 2010 3:37 PM

it's about time

Posted by Anonymous | June 24, 2010 5:15 PM

they need to call all the fillmore's irving plaza's.

Posted by Anonymous | June 24, 2010 6:58 PM

will this do anything to lower the $15 per ticket convenience charges?

Posted by Anonymous | June 24, 2010 7:00 PM

Irving Plaza doesn't even have Super Diamond this next go-around.

Posted by Dan | June 24, 2010 9:05 PM

FINALLY - they are selling advanced ticket coat check vouchers!! For every show this summer. I can check my t shirt! I don't even have the stomach to see what the convenience charge is on that.

Posted by Anonymous | June 24, 2010 11:40 PM

Actually there was the original Fillmore Auditorium in SF and then then another Fillmore in SF called Fillmore West and then Fillmore East in NY, again no original Fillmore in NY

Posted by Anonymous | June 25, 2010 7:26 AM

oh branding, up yours

Posted by Anonymous | June 25, 2010 1:38 PM

It's about time. The cheesy Filmore sign was the next mistake after changing the name.
And the cab drivers only know where Irving Plaza is anyhow. The Filmore just confused everyone.
