"Totimoshi, Melvins, Isis @ Webster Hall. Why would
I not be here? #fuckyeah." - Aaronzeem

"After Totimoshi, the Melvins hit the stage! I was expecting Isis to be next, as they were always billed as the support act, and, honestly, the Melvins are just more important. But, I'm guessing the groups are alternating for the stint they're doing together, which I guess makes sense, especially since, as mentioned before, Isis is breaking up." [An Uncontrollable Urge]Just three more dates. As I type this, Isis is putting a close on another show, getting closer and closer to closing the book on the highly influential post-metal band, for good. This past Friday (6/18), the band played one of their final shows at Webster Hall with Totimoshi and the Melvins. It was part of a two date stay in NYC (which continued at MHOW on Saturday - photo set on the way). Photos from Webster Hall, where Isis's headlining set got cut short due to Webster Hall's weekend curfew, are in this post.
Mike Hill of Tombs recently interviewed Aaron Turner of Isis. Part one of that interview is posted, with a second and equally fascinating part on the way.
All Isis dates, with the Webster Hall pictures and two of the night's setlists, below...

They have my eternal love and respect, but the 2 drummer Melvins lineup is FAIL.

1:28 is insane

You forgot Black Stooges.

The Melvins have played with two drummers for some time now. I saw them years ago in DC with Big Business as a two drummer act. The spot-on dual drumming is nothing short of amazing. A+ for the Melvins with two drummers!

At first I was skeptical about the 2 drummers thing but they have found their perfect sound..and it works for them..so Hank..you are a FAIL

Amazing show form two of my most favorite bands. As much as I love the Melvins I went Both nights for ISIS and they were in top form. The WHOM show on the 19th was my 10th and final ISIS show. I'll miss them a great deal.

Glad I didn't pay $30 for 45 mins of the Melvins. For sure I would have thought they were the headliner.

Isis suck. It was a complete bait-and-switch selling tickets for the Melvins and then getting Isis as the headliner. Glad Isis is breaking up. Good riddance to sub par act.

IS IT OKAY TO WEAR A BLACK COTTON TURTLENECK WITH BLACK DRESS PANTS ON STAGE?- DAVID SANDERSON

say what you will about the Melvins actual music, but anything negative about the double drumming is just foolish.
In all honesty, most headlining bands play an hour, melvins went on at 7:55 and the house lights came on at 9:05.
2nd, last, it doesn't matter, I got to leave once Isis started boring me.

Saw the Music Hall show and Melvins were so loud my balls fell off. Could barely hear ISIS after that. So worth it though. Melvins have found a great way to extend their reputation as a continuously creative force in music with the dual drummer setup. Big props to those guys for doing what they do. Totimoshi were really cool also. I was embarrassed that I didn't know who they were until the other night. Picked up a CD of theirs.

I like Isis, but they're not really exciting to see live. Melvins always rule

While I can't provide a complete Melvins setlist because I'm not familiar with some of their earlier stuff, I can tell you that this setlist is way off - They did not play A History of Bad Men. They did play Black Bock, and Electric Flower. Also, the order of songs in this setlist is wrong.

Other than the Totimoshi sentiment (I just couldn't get into them), I agree with every word of the last three comments. If you can't appreciate watching Dale drum, let alone in perfect synch with another excellent drummer, I'm not sure what I can say to bring you back to sanity.
