bout time

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 2:11 PM

they were pretty lackluster @ Bowery last year, I hope they haven't lost it.

Dont worry, not being able to get tickets via amex presale will not prevent you from going. I dont belive thier previous two shows in NY sold out until a few weeks before the shows. Very exited about the new album though, I feel that it has been forever since Audience No. 2 was released as a single.

I just want to know who approved the schedule.

Aug 26 Bowery Ballroom New York, NY
Aug 27 The Middle East Cambridge, MA
Aug 28 Music Hall of Williamsburg Brooklyn, NY

There are going to be some pissed-off band members on that one...

they didn't play bowery last year.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 2:28 PM

wait, yeah they did.

MHOW was better show.

also, I know for a fact the Bowery show last year did not sell out at all. It was a very slim crowd, I remember walking right up in front of Greg just as they started playing.

Posted by JT | June 9, 2010 2:38 PM

Yeah, it was a small crowd at last year's BB show. I liked the show a lot though. I'm going again this year. Can't wait for that new album.

six fucking years? did the coke slow them down? seriously, have they done anything significant since 2004?

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2010 4:36 PM

Wow, finally! I've been waiting for this release for_ever. Jesus christ. I've missed them every time they've come to the city. I WILL NOT miss them this year. Sweet!!!

4:36: six fucking years? did the coke slow them down? seriously, have they done anything significant since 2004?

opened for radiohead and nine inch nails.... and carla, the drummer, is a busy session musician in LA.... Autolux is not their main gig.
and i don't think coke SLOWS people down.

coke can certainly distract from doing meaningful work, even if it doesn't slow you down, per se..

Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie were really good albums. Got them when they came out, still throw them on at times and think they're great. It saddens me when I hear bands from that era when I was a teenager and hear their new stuff and it's so clear how they've lost it, they sound desperate to recapture a sound/magic that they haven't had in 15 years (holy shit).... And then I realize that is not unlike a lot of us.
