Posted by Anonymous | June 5, 2010 12:33 PM
I just got two tickets. And then I received a confirmation email. It names the event -- it's several really big bands that are named. I cant say who: The email is worded really well and articulates why this should be kept a secret.
One hint-- If you're expecting indie/alternative rockers, you'll be mostly disappointed, there's only one band like that -- it rhymes with Raft Funk.

Well, The Strokes do have a 5 day break between festivals in Europe and Africa right around that time. Other possibilities: Crystal Castles, The Specials, MGMT all have shows around NYC near or on that date. I just don't understand who would buy a ticket to a show without knowing who is playing. For all we know its Amazing Baby

@11:43 A promoter didn't tell BV about this alleged show. A person happened to see it listed on ticketweb and questioned BV about it. It's probably some corporate sponsored situation like Camel [cigarettes, not the band, which would be...um, special] giving out tickets to kids who buy their new cotton candy flavored cigarette, gaining access to see some crappy band.
That said, it's actually Thomas Pynchon playing Jandek songs while wearing No Bra's bra, hosted by Bin Laden.
Thanks for playing.

Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie were really good albums. Got them when they came out, still throw them on at times and think they're great. It saddens me when I hear bands from that era when I was a teenager and hear their new stuff and it's so clear how they've lost it, they sound desperate to recapture a sound/magic that they haven't had in 15 years (holy shit).... And then I realize that is not unlike a lot of us.

Amazing is an enormous understatement. One of the best electronic shows I've ever been to and I've seen well over a thousand concerts. I had no idea Vladislav Delay was as good a drummer & percussionist as he is- fabulous and he kept everything swinging with a very unique style of playing. If you missed this you missed out big time...
