Paul McCartney in Mexico City
Paul McCartney

"Terrified Sir Paul McCartney had to be rescued by cops after a mob attacked his tour bus in a dodgy no-go part of Mexico City.

Youths forced his driver to stop then started jumping up and down on the roof as the Beatles legend, 67, cowered inside.

A source said: "At first his security team thought it was just swarms of fans but when people started scaling the bus, the situation changed in a flash." They called cops who raced to the rescue. "Paul and the team were shaken up," the source added.

It happened after his gig at the Foro Sol stadium on Saturday at 1am. His management team are now reviewing security.

Paul played two shows while in Mexico City. Both setlists are below. The White House concert takes place Wednesday June 2nd, and will be aired on PBS later this summer...
The program, to be taped by WETA Washington, D.C., as part of the "In Performance at the White House" series, will air on PBS stations nationwide on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at 8 p.m. EDT (check local listings) as "Paul McCartney: The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song In Performance at the White House."

The concert will feature a tribute by major stars, many of whom will perform the songs that propelled McCartney to legendary status in music and humanitarianism around the world. The lineup of performers includes Stevie Wonder, Faith Hill, Jonas Brothers, Dave Grohl, Jack White, Elvis Costello, Emmylou Harris, Herbie Hancock, Corinne Bailey Rae and remarks by Jerry Seinfeld.

The Gershwin Prize for Popular Song was created by the Library of Congress to honor artists whose creative output transcends distinctions between musical styles and idioms, bringing diverse listeners together, and fostering mutual understanding and appreciation.

I had a friend that worked in a bank as a security guard in Mexico City. He finally had to get out due to all of the danger. I am glad Paul made it out alright. Imagine if he would have been taken hostage.

this is so funny and timely. we keep trying to evade the topic of mexico as a cesspool of violence and corruption. so many scumbags in mexico, it is undoubtedly a third world nation.

"His management team are now reviewing security."

How does he not have a police escort out of the stadium?

I've seen police escorts to and from stadium shows in NY and NJ, how does he not have one in a place like Mexico?

Back Seat of My Car
by Paul McCartney

Speed along the highway, honey I want it my way
But listen to her daddy's song, don't stay out to long
Were just busy hidin', sitting the back seat of my car
The lazy lights are pretty, we end up in Mexico City
But listen to her daddy's song, makin' love is wrong
Were just busy ridin', sitting the back seat of my car

Oh we was only hidin', sitting the back seat of my car
And when we've finshed drivin' we can say we were late in arriving
and listen to her daddy's song, we believe that we can't be wrong
Ohhh we believe that we can't be wrong
Ohhh we believe that we can't be wrong

We can make it to Mexico City, sittin' in the backseat of my car

Ohhh we believe that we can't be wrong
Ohhh we believe that we can't be wrong
Ohhh we believe that we can't be wrong
Ohhh we believe that we can't be wrong
Ohhh we believe that we can't be wrong
Ohhh we believe that we can't be wrong
NO NO NO NO

You don´t even know what are you talking about. The people of Paul have just said that it wasn´t an attack, they were only a few excited fans that were screaming when Paul bus was retain in traffic.

An you´re forgetting a very important song that he played in México. "Shine a light (in méxico)" it was made specially for his mexican fans.

The two concerts were sold-out, 120 000 persons had the oportunity to saw Paul in the Foro sol.
200 persons were on the soundcheck.
10 000 persons watch the second concert in "El Zócalo". (Paul allowed to put in zócalo a big screen).
600 000 persons looked the concert at cocacola.tv (only méxico).
