The National on tour now, add show @ Wellmont Theatre

“We’re used to being a band whispered quietly about in back alleys, so to be near the top of the Billboard chart made us realize we were in a different place now,” guitarist Aaron Dessner said from his hotel room in San Diego. [Boston Herald]

The National will be playing a show at NJ’s Wellmont Theatre on Friday, September 24th. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 4th at noon.

Add that to the band’s current tour dates, which already have two NYC summer stops (Radio City on June 16th and Prospect Park). The National are on tour now (this week they play Boston and Philly for two nights each before making their way to Bonnaroo) – in May the band spent a lot of time promoting their new album, High Violet, around NYC, culminating in a BAM Opera House show, which is still streaming online.
