I always check him out when he's in town, but having to cross 2 rivers?

Oooooof.

"I always check him out when he's in town, but having to cross 2 rivers?"

Will be worth it if it's actually a secret Cap'n Jazz show right?

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 12:03 PM

not if i've already seen them earlier that day within walking distance of my apartment.

Maxwells is a great venue that is worth "crossing two rivers" to visit. Give Glasslands a break for the weekend.

ugh can't believe the nyc cap'n jazz show has to be a big free thing. just fucking play a venue. i think most people wouldn't mind paying 10 bucks to see them in a small place with better sound.

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 12:10 PM

there's not 4,000 fans or whatever the pool capacity is that care enough about capnjazz. i hope jelly is paying them a lot. glad to see them play but not necessary to do it at the pool.

It's really going to suck for everyone involved when it's actually just Tim Kinsella playing solo shit.

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 1:00 PM

there aren't 4000 fans, but whenever anything is free in NYC, you can get a crowd. add to the fact that going to the Jelly shows is not just about the music, and you can fill that place up.

not to mention Capn Jazz wont be the headliner

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2010 1:15 PM

Capacity at the pool is 8000. And Capn Jazz def won't be headlining pool show. I hope I see the Strokes play at the Pool:)

i'm aware of the charms of Maxwell's and getting there really isn't the problem. it's the getting home that puts a big giant turd on top of the night.

geeks. all of you.

The cali shows are in August.... Not July.

But more importantly!!!!!!
Yes!!!!!!!!!
If this is all confirmed and not just teasing speculation i'll be one happy camper.

P.S. I'm sure most of the people at the pool party show wont even know these boys anyway, but who cares.

Maxwells rules. Brooklyn is on the downside of its heyday. When you Willimasburg fauxhemians look back on your wasted twenties and thirties, you will wonder what you were thinking, hanging out in the armpit of Brooklyn.

8:27...comments like those keep me wishing for the day new jersey falls into the ocean.

Maybe CapnJazz will play Boston instead. Fuck New York! :)

Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie were really good albums. Got them when they came out, still throw them on at times and think they're great. It saddens me when I hear bands from that era when I was a teenager and hear their new stuff and it's so clear how they've lost it, they sound desperate to recapture a sound/magic that they haven't had in 15 years (holy shit).... And then I realize that is not unlike a lot of us.

you dave haters can go fuck yourselves. bonnaroo 2010 was 4 of the best days of my life. the DMB and JayZ headliners at the main stage were two of the best shows I've ever seen, musically and production speaking. 2011 'roo is going to be amazing. Phish headlining?

they also played at a place called Tramps in april '99 losers. with qotsa. where were you? you guys sound pretty angry? go listen to something hip. whatever the fuck you think that is. why does james iha need to be in the band for them to be good? that makes no sense. so the band changed lineups. oh well.
