Hey Jude - Live at the White House

Dave Grohl and Jack White performed for President Barack Obama at the White House Wednesday during the ceremony for Paul McCartney's reception of the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song.

After Obama presented the award to McCartney, the performances began and White took to the stage for a rendition of the Beatles' "Mother Nature's Son." Grohl went on to perform the Wings hit "Band on the Run."

Other performers at the ceremony included Stevie Wonder, the Jonas Brothers, Elvis Costello, Faith Hill, Corrine Bailey Rae, Herbie Hancock, and McCartney himself.

Past recipients of the Gershwin Prize include Wonder and Paul Simon. [RTT]

The full show is coming to PBS in July.

That is just straight up fucking hilarious. Was hoping for a lil more Jack White, but I'll take it.

Hopefully after the show he gave some more input on Lebron James' free agency.

The song is called Michelle not My Michelle. I thought Beatles knowledge was a requirement to write for a music blog.

My Michelle is by Guns N Roses.

Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie were really good albums. Got them when they came out, still throw them on at times and think they're great. It saddens me when I hear bands from that era when I was a teenager and hear their new stuff and it's so clear how they've lost it, they sound desperate to recapture a sound/magic that they haven't had in 15 years (holy shit).... And then I realize that is not unlike a lot of us.
