Crest Fest is today.

The Mermaid Parade happens at Coney Island, featuring King Neptune Lou Reed and Queen Mermaid Laurie Anderson (Laurie has a new album out and shows on the way).

If you RSVPed to Brooklyn Block Party, you can see Freelance Whales, Justin Townes Earle, The Cringe (a hint at the event's host), J Rocc and Motel Motel at The Bell House.

Make sure you know how to take the ferry to the free show at Governors Island tonight.

Punk Island is on Governors Island on Sunday.

NXNE concludes in Toronto.

i'm never the one to complain but i thought The Morning Benders were kinda weak. i really wanted to like the free shows there, oh well hopefully M.I.A., and the other paying stuff will change that.

also fucking Beirut sells out. get there 10 minutes too late.

btw u could walk into the block party, no rsvp, unlimited free food & snapple & beer
& man the bell house is dark when yr coming from high noon solstice sunlight instead of the usual halogen nightscape, walking in there was like going blind

Melvins Rocked tonight!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2010 2:24 AM

The Melvins did rock last night! And the night before. But ISIS had me on cloud fuckin' 9! Can't believe I'll never see them again..

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2010 11:49 AM

^^^ I know right?? ISIS RULED!!! Melvins were weak. I have seen them before. Melvins were much more rockin 10 years ago. They are softer now, I didnt even wear my earplugs for their set.

ISIS RULED THE NIGHT!!!!

Posted by Metal Child | June 20, 2010 3:24 PM

Very dissapointed in Melvins last night. They came off like old farts next to ISIS. ISIS were louder, more in to it, and the crowd reacted more to them. Melvins cant get a rise out of their audience anymore. They're just too old. Real Melvins fans know what Im talking about.

ISIS KILLED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEST SHOW EVA!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2010 3:49 PM

Melvins are a great band, but they could not stand up to Isis. Melvins are old and lack energy.
Isis were on fire! They ruled the night!

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2010 4:02 PM

Agreed! Melvins are weak next to ISIS!

It sounds like you're creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of looking at why their is a problem in the first place.
