How many people do you guys think are at a typical Friday night Seaport show? 1500? 2000 maybe? Even if I'm off by a couple of thousand, I can't imagine how anyone can think that place can accommodate 10,000 safely.

I don't know kesha from drake or their fans... but allowing 10,000+ hip hopper come to see a free show and then closing it down results in major stupidity. These are people who have one track minds and when they are denied what they want they go into a frenzy.. they should cancel all the free shows there to punish these brains morons... I have seen many free shows in Coney Island and Prospect Park, no problems at all... but there are no drake fans at the shows i see and thank god for that...stay away all you idiots from good music.....

If Paper wants to sponsor free shows for well-publicized crap artists that are guaranteed to draw huge crowds, why don't they work with a venue like Summerstage where there are systems in place to handle larger audiences? The Seaport's free-for-all openness just isn't good for this sort of thing.

paper magazine is ruining for all those friday night indie shows. The same thing will happen with Kesha too, that is not a venue for big crowds. Why is paper magazine promoting the most popular music acts anyway?

I hate Kesha and Drake as much as the next guy, but the fact that they suck is not the reason these shows have a ton of people and get shut down. It's because they're popular.

If Arcade Fire, The White Stripes, Arctic Monkeys, etc announced a free show at South Street Seaport, they would also get shut down. It's just a matter of the venue not being able to fit that many people.

So there's no point saying that it got shut down because the fans are idiots. Well, sure, there were people climbing on shit, but it still would have gotten shut down, because there were just too many people.

Anyone who was at the Girl Talk "Pool Party" show last summer knows what I'm talking about. That was some crazy shit.
