I don't even fully understand what the "Fung Wah Metrocard Dark Horse Invitational" is, but it happened at Lucky Cheng's last night, and is somehow related to the Air Guitar National Finals happening at Irving Plaza tonight (7/22). So in honor of that, here are Gabi's pictures from it...

The Air Guitar Championship isn't nearly as fun as the Air Hummus Championship held this year at Mamouns Falafel House.

Dear hummus guy,

Kill yourself. You're not even remotely funny.

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2010 4:09 PM

If not being funny were a reason to kill oneself, those Flight of the Concord guys would've offed themselves a long time ago.

You should see how sexy the air hummus competitors are. When they do the air can opener or the air stirring and their hips kinda shake a Lil bit... Oh my!

IF that guy didnt throw his bass in the river, maybe these dudes would at least have a bass guitar to jump around with.

this shit is super ghey.

Hey look...A Sleigh Bells show!

If you fellows want to know how to meet chicks, then learn the secret of the chickpea. Nothing is sexier then a man holding a nice bowl of fresh hummus and a few pita triangles. Makes me go cRaZiNs!

Must be nice to have fun.

The hummus jokes are as funny as air guitar competitions.

Both need to go away.

I like the hummus comments. It's far preferable to, say, the old Stylus comment sections, where people killed themselves to sound like Baudrillard and Derrida despite their comments being completely incomprehensible faux-academic rubbish.

Who is making hummus jokes? I only see hummus facts and opinions.

Posted by Anonymous | July 22, 2010 7:40 PM

Hummus stopped being funny when it was appropriated to a culture that didn't create it but wears it as its own scarf that doesn't fit.

Hummus as a scarf? That sounds like a good idea in theory, how does one create such a beautiful item? Please tell us 1:15!

i guess only gay people like air guitar?
regardless, this seems like something that only drunk people could enjoy. which doesnt necessarily make it bad.

@1:49
I know, who knew

also weird that Dick Lucas (pic 4 and 6) was there. I guess old british anarchist punks also love air guitar
