af sounds like they learned world music from the putumayo display at the head shop's cash register, and folk music from a comp in the bargain bin at target.
if you don't have a beard and a scarf, and if you're not a part of the street team that sings along to the interminable a capella tangents, you will feel out of place.

To my NY friends, I hope Akron/Family is blessed with better circumstances than their recent fiasco in Chicago (torrential rain, sound problems, general despair).
I was impressed that they didn't just give up despite all of the problems and the misfortune of being booked at the worst, scuzziest, bombed-out lousy festival in all of Chicago.

10:42 there definitely was a heavy Burning Man contingent at the Chicago show. But those people would've danced like lunatics regardless of who was playing, just because it gave them an excuse to play in a rainstorm while hula-hooping and glow-sticking.

Monster Island holds about 250 people, gets sweaty but it's not that hot out today, and there's a large window they keep open. should be pleasant enough
