LCD Soundsystem crowd last night (NewsHouse)
LCD Soundsystem

Camp Bisco, the hippie festival that like Bonnaroo has been diversifying its lineup, kicked off in Mariaville, NY last night (7/15). LCD Soundsystem (who are on their way to Pitchfork), Caribou (who play Governors Island tonight), and Holy Fuck (who you can catch at Siren on Saturday) were all part of the Thursday night lineup. Earl Greyhound (also playing Siren) and Major Lazer are among those who play today. Saturday has Ween and Girl Talk, and both remaining nights have lots of Disco Biscuits.

Unlike Pitchfork there's no stream, but you can check out the whole live schedule, and some videos from the fest so far, below...

this is actually one festival that has been no2 mafia/tank free for the past 3 years.

its quite simple. you run a tank: you get your ass kicked by bikers.

Yes, silent disco yougin... been around for oh say 40 year..

worst band ever. not enough mdma on the planet to make the disco biscuits enjoyable.

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2010 9:14 PM

not even close to enough mdma. disco biscuits are the insane clown posse of the jam scene. it makes me sad that ween is stooping to this level.

The Disco Biscuits throw a hell of a party. Not a single one of you haters had anywhere close to this much fun this weekend.

None of you have any idea what youre talking about... there is no nitrous at camp bisco

Posted by Anonymous | July 19, 2010 5:15 PM

i've never listened to the disco biscuits and didn't bother paying attention to their sets at bisco and this still one of the best festivals i've ever been to.

Posted by Anonymous | July 20, 2010 2:14 AM

why would you go to something like bisco if you don't want to be around drugs?

Posted by Anonymous | July 20, 2010 2:16 AM

There is some Nitrous at Bisco, but only if you bring it yourself. The bikers keep the tanks away and in general keep things running pretty smooth. Most importantly the real bathrooms with real toilets! I was impressed with Bisco and will go back next year for sure. Lineup was fantastic. Biggest surprise for me was the lackluster set from LCD Soundsystem and Major Lazer absolutely melting everyone's face. At Coachella, it was the opposite.

The Insane Clown Posse of the Jam scene they might be, but fuck the jam scene. I would rather listen to ICP than Phish or Moe.

Jam band hate, ah yes, delicious jam band hate. What do you think of Gathering of the Vibes?
