Greg Dulli

For the first time in his career, Greg Dulli will embark on a solo tour which will see him make stops in five different countries for a total of 29 shows. Beginning in New Orleans on October 8th, 'An Evening With Greg Dulli' will feature Greg along with long-time Twilight Singers guitarist Dave Rosser and multi-instrumentalist Rick Nelson (Polyphonic Spree) performing a stripped down set. Dulli will lead his band through a wide selection of songs encompassing his entire career...

...These shows will also mark the debut of several brand new songs from the forthcoming Twilight Singers album scheduled for release on Sub Pop Records in early 2011. The new Twilight Singers album will be the first release from the group in five years. [Sub Pop]

I love his work with the Whigs haven't really paid attention after that...Any albums worth looking into in particular?

Yes. All of them. Start with The Gutter Twins and work your way back.

oh please...dulli's post whigs stuff is meh at best...maybe blackberry belle was okay...gutter twins is okay...but everything else pales in comparison.

I'm with 11:53.

I agree. Gutter Twins is his best work since the Afghan Whigs. If you dig that, skip Twilight Singers' most recent LP (Powder Purns) and pick up Blackberry Belle first. If you dig BB they also put out a good covers LP before that is good too.

Enjoy!

Powder Burns is excellent.

Dulli and his music is intolerable. His "performance" as part of The Gutter Twins at Bowery a year or two back was one of the worst I've ever seen; ruined the whole night, which is pretty hard to do when Lanegan is on stage too.

why go see the show in the first place if his music is intolerable?

LANEGAN IS KING

Lanegan IS king.

Dulli has become more and more embarrassing to see live. I've seen him since '92 and it's def been downhill since 2000.

Thanks for the Whigs and Gutter Twins Greg, but without Mark aboard, I'm leaving any Dulli appearances in my past.

I do hope Lanegan and Isobel Campbell plan to come back and tour for their new "Hawk" LP. I was really bummed when their show got cancelled last year...

new hawk album is fantastic!

dulli did ruin the gutter twins show at bowery with his lame LA bloated rocker style.

still hard to resist seeing him play whigs songs.

YES. Best music news I've heard all year. Greg Dulli can do no wrong in my book. Afghan Whigs, Twilight Singers, Gutter Twins...there is also an iTunes only live solo record that is well worth seeking out. The album of covers is worth it just for the cover of the Kate Bush song. So amazing.
