van

this is insane!
the police have recovered the van
and
all of our gear is in there
and appears to be un-damaged

speechless right now,
more soon, love phos

note from label/management: we will of course return everyone's generous donations. thanks so much for your love and support!

Crazy. Phosphorescent's van and gear were reported missing on Friday, right after their Thursday night NYC show with Dawes. Just yesterday they announced they only had to cancel two shows and were leaving on tour with borrowed gear.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 12:56 PM

Nice ending to the story, but....how do they fit ALL of that equipment AND people in that van??

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 12:57 PM

All this time I was imagining a nice Ryder truck or something...did they buy Vinny Barbarino's stabbin' cabin?

Posted by LKJ | July 13, 2010 1:12 PM

Hey, that van photo was taken in my home town, Juneau, Alaska. If I'm remembering correctly, a guy hopped up on assorted drugs was leading the police on a chase through town, then decided to drive out onto the tide flats.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 1:16 PM

MOO. BEEF IT'S WHAT'S FOR DINNER. MMMMMM...VEAL!!! F... P-HO'S-FOR-ASS-SCENT

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 1:55 PM

This misleading photo is terrible journalism. Seriously BV, you're no NYT when it comes to music reporting.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 2:23 PM

Damn I miss LUXX. Electro clash revival 2012

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 2:27 PM

Posted by fact | July 13, 2010 3:04 PM

Yeah, what's with the photo of a random van that doesn't even belong to the band?

Posted by LKJ | July 13, 2010 3:21 PM

they are going to return all the money donated. come on people, be happy for 6 VERY cool dudes who got their tools to put food in their mouths and do what they love back.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 3:59 PM

@1:19 - Damn, that is some c-r-a-z-y shit.

Posted by Half Chemical | July 13, 2010 4:03 PM

That photo and van are from something that happened in ALASKA. Is there no information on how the bands van was found? Where it was? Who took it? Really great reporting BV. This story has more holes than my underwear.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 4:31 PM

The link posted by 1:19 is a story about the Van in the photo above that was part of a police chase in ALASKA. It has NOTHING to do with this story or Phos.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 4:33 PM

cocaine is a hell of a drug

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 7:49 PM

Everyone in this band is a SERIOUS stoner. (I'm talking blunt style here) and each time they forget where they park their van, the bassist always starts with "the van being stolen story"... It looks like they had been smoking some chronic this time and really got far out man.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 8:29 PM

Phosphorescent bought the van used from someone who got it at a juneau police auction.

Posted by bridget cross | July 13, 2010 9:13 PM

Juneau where the real van pic is?

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 9:50 PM

I saw this reported on Pitchfork and it sounded a little fishy.I came here to Brooklyn Vegan to see if anyone also thought it was fishy.
Glad to see there are.

BV should have been clear that photo was a joke.

They do have good PR and their tour just got another push.

But the story could still be true. Who the hell knows?
